My husband is taking us to WDW for my birthday. Our little boy will have just turned 19 months old and I am wondering the best sit down places to eat with a very active toddler. I strongly dislike fast food and we prefer sit down meals. Can anyone suggest some of the more child friendly sit down resturaunts in the parks? Our little boy is not a picky eater at all...just a little busy. Thanks!:)

Aww he is a doll!

Does he like the characters? Is he afraid? If he likes them and is not afraid then I would say Chef Mickeys and Crystal Palace. I have seen toddlers in Crystal Palace and the character interaction with them is just too precious.

The breakfast at CP is very good.

There are plenty of restaurants that are kid friendly :)

When are you going? Remember to make your ADRs as soon as possible. Have fun!

Actually, they are ALL child friendly. I'd just decide if you want characters or not, then look at the menus and decide where YOU want to eat.

We went in May when DS was 8 months and we'll be going in Dec. when he's 16 months. We love Crystal Palace, Coral Reef, Chef Mickey and '50s Prime Time. CRT is good because of the show, but not as great as it used to be.

Our daughter was 19 months last time she was there and loved the characters! We were on the ddp, so anywhere that was a buffett or family style, she ate free! So we did a lot of those. She loved CP, Garden Grill, Whispering Canyon, Cape May. We only did 2 sitdowns where we had to either bring or buy her food. She even did great at LeCellier! My advice is to make the ressies around or before your little one gets hungry so he is a happy boy!

I have a 16 month old and we're hitting a lot of Character meals. When my older son was 10 months we went to the Pooh lunch and he was enthralled! My younger son loved Stitch at breakfast at DL back in January when he was 8 months old. Both kids just kept shovelling the food in and were super good!

You can't get more excited than this! Daisy drops in on the Lilo and Stitch breakfast.

We just came back and had reservations for 7 TS meals and DD liked all of them! It really helps when you schedule them at their regular eating times or a little before just in case there is a wait. Twice we waited for 15-20 minutes. Her favorites were the character meals so we will definitley do those again especially LTT and CP! She also LOVED Coral Reef and was well behaved at 50s prime time. She was fussy at Boma but I think it's because she wasn't hungry...too bad because the food there is amazing!!!!!

Good luck with your ADRs!

My son 18 months at the time did well with Crystal palace, Chef Mickeys, Ohana, and Boma. They all offered kid friendly food and were active places that a busy toddler fit right into. The only place that had us a little on edge was In Italy but we took a DVD player and he was very calm. So much so people were commenting on it. This is not usual for him so it was very funny.

We took our just turned 2 year old last time and she LOVED all of the character meals. I saw lots of little ones around the 18 month - 2 year mark and they didn't seem afraid of the characters.

We did CP, Tusker House and Garden Grill. She loved them all and I was very worried.

Just try to keep the eating schedule like at home.

When we went last year my DD was 18 months old. Like everyone else said, she LOVED the characters. Another good place is Whispering Canyon- kids running around is the standard, so if yours doesn't want to sit still, that's a good place to go. Coral Reef also held my daughters' attention. We sat right next to the aquarium and they were enthralled by the fish.
But best lesson leanred from that Disney trip is to eat often. Every hour DD was either getting something to drink and that seemed to help with the crankiness.
Have fun!
Your family is beautiful

Try 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian, even the boys liked it (they go a lot of attention), and Playhouse Disney's Play 'n Dine and Hollywood Studios. Both are Buffet.
