Best Resturants at Disney?

My favorite character breakfasts in the MK are Cinderella's Royal Table at the Castle and Pooh and Friends at the Crystal Palace, or the Princesses at Aukershus in Epcot. I think the Crystal Palace is beautiful and the Castle is really special. Food is very good at all, with CP being my favorite.
I wated to do that one! but my hubby didn't want to see princesses lol

The best restaurant is at its best when its best chef and most efficient staff are working. When the best aren't working, the quality of its second-echelon staff can make or break a restaurant's reputation. Restaurants with consistently high marks from diners and reviewers maintain first and second-echelon chefs and staffs that are essentially interchangeable. That being said, if you are celebrating an anniversary, make it special by dining someplace that is better than the rest. There are a few restaurants at WDW that will fulfill your expectations. We recommend the California Grill. Why? Qualitative consistency.

The hubby and I tried to get California Grill, but they were only open really early or really really late (like 10 pm dinners) and that is just too late for me.

We sat and talked about it for a while and decided that we would have our one dinner and one breakfast like we wanted, but instead of spending that super amount on a dinner, spend it on a beautiful picture frame (i am a photographer) or something that means more and will last a lifetime.

We ended up booking a dinner at at Tony's in the Magic Kingdom (we had several friends tell us to do here) and to Donald's Safari Breakfast. We chose this one because I do not like Winnie the Pooh at all, and I couldn't do a princess one becaue of the hubby :p so we chose this one. Any complaints on either one?

I was wondering if yall had heard about any special celebrations or cermonies or even recongintions that restaurants do for honeymooners or anniversaries? I had heard of one restaurant that did "re-hitchin" ceremonies, but not anymore. :sad2: but something like that would be super cute!
Happy anniversary![/QUOTE]

Make sure you buy the bride and groom mickey ears to wear when you are there.Dont know where you buy them though

I don't want to sound jerky but as for food quality and settings I think you have better options for your dinner and character breakfast. I would seriously look into CM for breakfast and for dinner for a moderate sit down dinner I'd look in Boma, La Cellier, Chef de France,or even Spoodles. Tonys doesn't get very good reviews and ate thier once and wouldn't say it was anything special. If you want to splurge as other poster said CG or Jiko's are great choices. Enjoy whatever u decide.

Just goes to show you that people like different things. We had the worst food I think I have ever eaten at WDW at Tony's. Maybe it was an off day for them, but it was bad enough that I will never go back. Love Crystal Palace and O'Hana for character meals. Whatever you decide, have a great trip! We are also taking advantage of the military offer. Can't beat it! Have a great trip!

Happy anniversary... I'd suggest the Coral Reef at Epcot. If you go for late lunch, it's not so expensive. It's very peaceful watching the fish swim by. Get a reservation though.

I had a *fabulous* meal at Jiko's at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Both the food & the atmosphere is sophisticated & enjoyable. I was really happy with that choice.

It *really* depends on what you are looking for. Everyone has their favorites & least favorites.

Sayhello

My husband and I just got back from our trip yesterday (2/22). I planned way in advance - stressed about ressies, almost everyday. Half the restaurants we booked, that we always go to, we were very disappointed with. And some of the last minute decisions or should I say restaurants we were so so about, we loved! So it just goes to show, you just never know. I would say the most consistent out of the bunch to us seem to be Crystal Palace, Kona, Flying Fish, Narcoossees, and Teppan Edo. :cool1:

If you're interested in a character meal, try Crystal Palace at the MK. There's alot of interaction with Pooh and friends and it's really a good buffett.:thumbsup2

Have to agree about Tony's -- been there, done that, don't need to again. Not much atmosphere and the food is so-so. It seems like a waste for what it does, it could be so much better considering the location.

Last night, I booked another reservation for Spoodles (which I think one or two of you posted about) so we have 2 dinners and one breakfast. Yay! I can't wait!

Our favorite restaurants are Teppan Edo in Japan, Le Cellier in Canada.

We were on the dining plan which really gives you alot of bang for your buck.

At Teppan Edo, we've had the shrimp cocktail (even though it says "wasabi" cocktail sauce, it tastes just like any regular cocktail sauce with horseradish), tempura with dipping sauces, miso soup, salad. For entree's we've have the filet mignon w/noodles (yummy!!) steak w/shrimp (yummy) and the steak and chicken (mmmmm.......). Believe me, we are definitely members of the clean plate club.

For dessert try the green tea chocolate cake (hopefully you have room in your tummy for that). It is really good.

At Le Cellier, my husband had the chicken and chorizo sausage. That sausage was spicy and it kind of sneaks up on you. But it is very tasty. My daughter had the onion soup and it's not like the kind you get with the melted cheese on top. It's is very tasty and my very very picky daughter said it was the best she ever had. I had the cheese soup. I loved it. In fact, just thinking about it is making my hungry. Dip the pretzels they give you into it, OMG! It's almost sinful to think about how good that soup is.

My daughter got the burger w/relish ketchup (yummy), hubby had the steak sandwich which he loved. We both agreed both dishes were very good and the burger was very tasty. I had the filet mignon w/mushroom and truffle risotto. That was a very filling dish, I wasn't hungry for quite some time after this meal. I don't know how we did it, but we got desserts, I had the chocolate "moose" (to die for) and the sundae. We also had the maple creme brulee'. My daughter was craving it the rest of the trip. We did leave a bit of the sundae behind, it was really good. We did wrap up the burger and ate it later at the resort.

Crystal Palace is good, but is very busy, noisy, crowded. The food is good, but for some reason last week when we were there, the quality didn't seem the same as last summer. We were a bit diappointed. We were looking forward to the turkey and it was kind of dry this time around.

Jiko was good. I had the braised short rib in bbq sauce. It was very filling. One thing on the menu that had us laughing was the steak with macaroni and cheese. We couldn't for the life of us, figure out how macaroni and cheese was African. My hubby got the lamb which was very tasty and our daughter had the chicken. She wasn't a fan of it, plus it tasted exactly like the chicken you get in the Maro, for a fraction of the price. And let me tell you, that half chicken dinner you get in the Maro (with couscous/veggies) for ($9.99) or whatever the price was, is the best thing on that menu. I ate it about 4 times last week. Worth every penny. Anyway, back at Jiko, for dessert the pisatchio creme brulee is good, this is what made our daughter a creme brulee nut.

Peco Bill's was closed last week for renovations, we were disappointed in that, that is a great place for a great burger with all the fixings. Talk about bang for your buck.

Pinochio's Haus for Pizza's was good, I liked the salad. Pizza's were tasty and filled you up good.

Get a churro in Mexico, great snack.

My favorite restaurant hands down is Boma. I love the food and the press pot is my favorite coffee at WDW.

The new Tusker House is a close second, mostly because the food is very similar.

There are so many musts but I will list some. A family style meal with a show is the hoopty do reveu. You will love the show and all you can eat and drink ( including beer) A nice quiet sit down would be the Artist point at Wilderness lodge. THe living seas has a great seafood resturant. The capt grill has a great steak house. The calif grill has a great menu and great view of fireworks. You can eat a the Brown Derby in dhs and get special seating at fantasmic. I could go on but these are some very nice places.
