I'm looking for advise of the best restaurants to take a 6 month old to. We usually go to places like Le Celliar and Ohana, but we are planning our next trip which will include a 6 month old. Any advise would be great? I would like to go to places that would be enjoyable for the baby.

At six months the baby will be happy wherever you are. It will be more important to worry about what time you eat than where. If the baby is used to going to sleep at 8 PM don't make 7:30 dinner reservations! Six months is really a little to young for your little one to "enjoy" a restaurant.

Depends partly on baby's personality, schedule etc.
I think I would choose some buffet style like Chef Mickey's. So you can take less time etc, More flexible. Get your food when you want. Go back for fresh hot food if you are interrupted by fussy baby or needs.
Enjoy !

What kind of food does your baby like? If your baby likes sushi, I would suggest Mitsukoshi Tokyo Dining.

I know it all depends on the baby's schedule. I was thinking about places with Character Dining or other places that would be interesting for the baby to look at. Chef Mickey's was on the possibility list. Any other suggestions?

At this age- it's pretty easy. Does baby sit in a high chair, or do you need to bring the stroller with you? If it is a stroller night- you need to research which places will take you with the stroller as many of them don't (le cellier is notorious for this). Le cellier is tight with highchairs and slow. I would pick something that moves a little quicker. I always find Kona cafe is a great one for us- roomy, fairly fast, etc. Really any place you want to go will work fine as long as you work around baby's schedule

I agree that your little one will find plenty to look and amuse them at most places. I too find that buffets lower the stress; once you get seated you can get going by sending one person to the buffet while the other waits with baby. Also I noticed all buffets had fresh bananas at breakfast, lunch and dinner - that will be one thing baby can definitely eat at that age (I used to fork mask them with breastmilk/formula to thin it). I think Crystal Palace would be an excellent choice, there was an infant in a stroller next to our table and there was LOTS of room. Plus you'd have some adorable pictures with Pooh & friends of baby's first trip!

HTH! :wizard:

Our oldest daughter was 6 months old the last time we went to Disney and she did great! She rode rides, did some people watching with grandma while we rode bigger rides and had a blast at meals.

We opted for The Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern (it had Mickey characters back then), 50's Prime Time and Tappen Edo (which had a different name back then).

She loved the characters at the first two. She always went for their noses and would giggle from the time they got close to us until she lost sight of them. She would literally hang out of the highchair trying to see them as long as she could.

At 50's PT, we ended up at a table with a TV and she watched that for a long time and then played with the glow cube from DH's drink. And at Tappen Edo, she enjoyed the show and squealed with delight many times.

So my advice is to do a few character meals and then whatever you want. Make sure you have a few small toys that the baby can play with at the table, snacks, a sippy, etc and you should be fine.

Also, start taking the baby out to restaurants before Disney. Get him or her used to the sights and sounds and expected behavior of dining out.

We've also been quite successful with scheduling meals right after baby's feeding time...especially buffets. That way baby is running on a fully tummy, fresh diaper and is content which means we aren't fumbling with a bottle (trying to nurse) or attempting to spoon feed all while we're trying to eat too.

Also, we try to avoid eating during nap times. Most restaurants can't handle strollers inside and you don't want to cut a much needed nap short or try eating while holding a sleeping baby.

But good luck! You are going to one of the most kid friendly place in the country so with proper scheduling you should do great.

Thank you all so much for the help. So far, I've come up with Crystal Palace, Ohana, Chef Mickey's, either 50s Prime Time or Sci-Fi (not sure?), and possibly Tusker House for breakfast. I'm not sure about Epcot yet.
