Hey yall !
I am just wondering if anyone can tell me where the best places to eat after having gastric bypass or the healthiest places are. TB, QS, anything.

I think it is called Seasons. It is located inside The Land building at Epcot. They have a good variety to choose from.

Sunshine Seasons in the land is great, another healthy place is the Wave at the Contemporary Resort- I believe most or all of their food is organic.

I think just about every where you eat will have a salad choice. You didn't say how far out from your surgery you are and that could make a difference also.

thanx guys :lovestruc im gonna be about 10 - 11 months out ... so i'm gonna be eatting lots of protein. so i was thinking any where will be ok, lots of chicken lol and i was thinking Ohana would be ok cause i could have the scrambul eggs and maybe the meat. I think :confused3

I think that with you being that far out you will be able to eat just about anywhere. If your Dr gives you a card saying that you had your surgery you might be able to eat off the kids menu also. Which would be really helpful if your not on any free dining. Pack your protein bars and take to park also because if your family is at a qs and your not as hungry you can at least sit and have some protein. even pack some nuts for munching on. and if you must have dessert once in a while most place have sugar free desserts and the sugar free raspberry sorbet is really good but make sure you read the lable {if possible} because alot of the sugar free products have sugar alcohol in them that might make you sick. I know with myself that I was so happy to be at Disney that I didn't let my surgery and how I was going to eat run my trip. There are plenty of options so don't worry about it and have a great trip.

This may be a weird suggestion for gastric bypass... but I'd actually say the buffets, specifically Crystal Palace.
You won't get your "money's worth" of all-you-can-eat. But you will get significant variety, multiple salad choices. And you can get "small plates" without feeling like you are wasting food.

I'd also just think about sharing meals at regular TS restaurants.

Lastly... I recently saw a "summer roll" at Animal Kingdom (I think its available from a cart) which would make a great small lunch.

That far out you should be fine anywhere. Most places will have a simple protein choice, even the majority of quick service. As long as you stick with protein heavy choices you'll be good. I'd skip any kind of card asking for ordering off the kids menus. Yes you'll be paying for food you won't eat, but you'll have a whole lot more choice and better quality choices. Even at someplace like Pecos Bills you could skip the sides, skip the bun and eat part of a hamburger patty. I'm 5.5 months out from my surgery and have never had a problem ordering at restaurants.

How sensitive are you to sugar??? You might not order a dessert, but one or two bites from someone else during the week would give you a taste!! There are usually one or two kiosks in each park which also have healthier snacks like fruit or cut up veggies. Wonder if any of the little packaged snacks are nuts...hmm, I'll need to look at that before I go in February!

Good luck and have a great time!!! Don't know about you but I'm really excited about going to Disney at a significantly lower weight!

There's nothing like going to Disney for the first time after surgery. It's like seeing it for the first time all over again. :goodvibes
