OK... I posted a similar question a few days ago and got not responses. I am planning a Grand Gathering for 12 people (6 adults and 6 kids - 10 and under). What are the best restaurants for large groups. Are there some that can accomodate groups like us? We will all be on the DDP.

I believe that Crystal Palace is a good restaurant for groups. Also, Biergarten is great.

Would it be easier to answer what restaurants are not suitable for groups? I honestly don't know.

I've seen lots of big groups at O'hana's that seem to be having a good time. They certainly have the table-set-up for groups that big.

Thanks. We've eaten at both CP and 'Ohana's and love them both. We've not tried Biergarten, but I don't know if we'd like German food. How about Le Cellier?

I've seen groups at big as 12 in Le Cellier; seem to be having a good time to me! They were in one of the central dining rooms with lots of tables put together.

The buffets would probably work well. I've seen parties that large at Chef Mickey's, and I would think Boma would be a good fit. Of course, I always think Boma would be a good fit.

As to places to avoid: Beaches and Cream. Unless you want to wait for days and be split up among several tables.

We had a party of 10 (7 adults and 3 kids) last November. Restaurants we ate at that accomodated all 10 at one table were Chef Mickeys, Cinderellas Royal Table - Breakfast, Ohana's Character Breakfast, Hoop-De-Doo Revue and Rose and Crown Pub. The other places we ate, we were seated at two separate tables but they were right next to each other - Liberty Tree Tavern, and Sci Fi Dinner Theater.

Thank you, Vovoa. That helps tremendously. Now we have to decide and then wait for 180 days out so we can make our ressies. :yay:

We did not fare very well at the Crystal Palace. Our group was spread to 3-4 tables but at least we were some what close.

We did a Grand Gathering a couple of years ago with a party of 9. 'Ohana managed us the best of all. LTT had us at two adjacent tables. H & V had us at one big ol' table. Ditto 1900 Park Faire.

Can't remember any others, but I do know the CMs do all they can to make it managable and pleasant for you.

On our last trip, we were a party of 9. We had a wonderful experience everywhere we ate together! :thumbsup2 We were always seated together-either at one large table or two tables that had been put together for us. We ate at Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, WCC, Le Cellier and dinner at CRT.
I think a little "trick" for larger parties to be seated all together is to book one of the first ADR times available.
The only reason I did NOT book Teppanyaki was that they were quite adament about only 8 to a table. Hopefully they will reopen after the current rehab with some larger tables!

'Ohana is set up for large parties. There was a very large wedding party when we were there last, as well as some other not-so-large but still large parties. The middle of the restaurant has tables for bigger groups.

Germany .. BierGarten ... I know U said U were not sure if U would like the food .. it is really pretty basic .. lots of meat and potatoes ... a buffet style menue .. you pick what U like .. children 3 and under are free. My daughter was 4 at the time we went .. the host asked the ages of my children ..and I told him .. 4 and 9 .. he repeated to me "3 and 9"? right? I said "no, 4 and 9" .. then he said again "3 and 9 right" lol It was a great time .. BIG tables set up for large groups and live entertainment .. alllll U can eat buffet and sweets ... it really was a good time. Nothing unusual on the menue ... mostly beef and chicken lots of potatoes fixed various ways and other dishes.
We are fans of more upscale dining, but this was good food and a good price and a good time was had by all.
PS I hope U R staying onsite ....B sure to book priority seating well in advance.

Our last trip we had a group of 22, and didn't have any problems except for LeCellier. They kept us waiting for 2 hrs. while they put us all at one big table (pushed together) down the center of the restaurant. Other places we ate: Hoop De Doo, LTT, 'Ohana, Mama Melrose's, Chef Mickey's...all of them handled things well, even if we were at 2 tables they were right next to each other. Good luck!
