Suggestions on the best place to celebrate our son's 8th birthday? The entire trip is a surprise, so being there is going to be huge. We are staying at the POLY (or maybe CL WL) and will have our DD6 and DD20months with us. Not worried about character or not, just want to make sure he feels special. Right now we are thinking Prime Time... We are going to do Teppan Edo another night as I didn't think they'd do alot for his birthday (plus they don't take TIW)

Thanks for any suggestions.

What are his favourite foods? Is he fairly outgoing? The reason I ask is because when we went to 50's Prime Time my daughters weren't into it (they were pretty shy at the time). Whispering Canyon is along the same lines, but the food the isn't so great IMO. My kids LOVE Teppan Edo. Coral Reef is a cool atmosphere if he likes the aquarium setting. He might find Sci-Fi Dine In neat too. You can see menus on allears.net and that might help you decide.

For our son's 8th birthday we did Crystal Palace for breakfast - they decorated the table and brought him a cupcake and a birthday card signed by Pooh and his friends.

For supper we did Hoop-Dee-Doo and they announced it was his birthday.

Same trip we had Chef Mickey's on my birthday - they brought me a cupcake and Chef Mickey came out when they sang Happy Birthday.

All 3 meals/experiences were great :)

I know it seems like the obvious choice, but what about Chef Mickey's? With the characters dancing, napkin twirling, and celebration song, he may think that the party is just for him! :thumbsup2 It is my boys' favorite meal at WDW.

Or how about 'Ohana? I know...another obvious choice. They made a huge deal out of the celebrations at our table on the last visit: an anniversary, an adoption, and a new job (just found out hours before the dinner!) Our 'cousin' announced the celebrations and brought special desserts just as Wishes was starting. How perfect was that?

We spent DH's 41st birthday at Teppan Edo and it was a wonderful evening. We have great pictures of DH in his chef's hat that he was given.

My son is VERY outgoing and can handle humor and attention quite well. He's not afraid of dishing it back either. :lmao: He is not a picky eater either and will try anything. We've considered HDDR, but our youngest didn't handle the noise that well, though our soon be 8 year old LOVED it. If that is the best choice we would probably get a sitter (or sit further from the stage)

Teppan Edo is a favorite of ours too, we go every trip and if we weren't going to Disney we would be at a local place for dinner that night. So it is still technically on the list. Just looking for other ideas that we may not have thought of!

Thanks!
