Best restaurant in DL

ok are we being technical here and just going with Disneyland restaurants or are you including the hotels and DCA???? If we are just talking about DL then I would say

Carnation Cafe sitdown

Bengal BBQ counter service

Napa Rose or Steakhouse 55. Catal is up there, too.

Inside DL park - Plaza for the fried chicken or the salads at Pizza Port

Inside DCA - Pacific Wharf Cafe for soup and salad in bread bowls.

what do you all consider the best restaurant in Disneyland?

Different folks have different criteria for what they consider a good restaurant, to a degree. I have not been to Napa Rose yet so not sure what the food is like. I just go by what tastes the best, portion size, quality of food, variety of food available or on the menu, and service/ambience too. Mainly the taste and quality of food. Best value for the money. Then I might throw in there which place we have had the most consistently good experiences with.

So by that reasoning, and this may sound silly, we have had the best and freshest food, best value and portions for the money, most consistently good times, etc. at Goofy's Kitchen!!! Most people might chuckle at that but that has been our experience! I even asked my friend last year what her favorite restaurant in all of DLR was, and she chose Goofy's. We simply just really enjoy the food selections and the fun atmosphere is secondary.

We used to have consistently good times at Carnation Cafe too, but their menu is very limited and the service has been a little lacking recently. I like a place that has MANY options on its menu. Or at least more options than Carnation Cafe! Rainforest Cafe has a lot of choices and good ambience, and even good food, but I don't know if I would say that it is one of my favorites. I really liked the food at ESPN Zone, but it was too noisy and busy.

Storytellers Cafe has a good selection of lunch and dinner items, and is a nice quiet place to have a good meal for fairly good prices.

If your budget allows, Napa Rose is excellent. The menu is spectacular with a wonderful wine list. The atmosphere is casual, but elegant, and the feel is perfect for a fun dinner with friends or a romantic night out.

Of course, for me, you can't beat the feeling of Blue Bayou. Never understood why Disney didn't capitalize more on the imaginitive design of BB when building new restaurants...

I'd have to say Blue Bayou too. I was in awe when I went there for the first time on Saturday.... Loved the atmosphere and ambience :).

The food wasn't so bad either ;)

Blue Bayou for many reasons.
Ariel's Grotto because of my girls. :)

But we have other favorites too.

Well of course Club 33 is THEE best!!! But you'll never get there! I got to eat there once.
In DLR it is Goofy's Kitchen!!! Best food for the money and who doesn't love Goofy, Cinderella, Chip and Dale, Aladdin, Fairy Godmother, and Pluto?
In Disneyland Park: My autistic son loves Rancho del Zacalo. He calls it the Zoro restaurant. I love Cafe Orleans cuz you can get the Monte Christo sandwich of Blue Bayou but cheaper and without reservations. I love Bengal BBQ too!
In DCA: The popcorn carts!!! DCA is the only place you can get Fresh Caramel Corn!! (the stuff in DTD just isn't as good)
In DTD: ESPN Zone. MMMMmmmmm Steak Salad is sooo good!!!
Weird huh? How you can come up with so many different answers.

We really love Cafe Orleans. It is the only restaurant we tend to hit every trip, they have a small, but interesting menu. Usually about an hour before we want to go, I'll call for a reservation, and haven't had a problem getting one yet! If the weather is nice, sitting outside adds to the atmosphere!

If I am just grabbing food then it has to be Bengel Barbeque. Sit down Blue Bayou. But just for a nice place to rest in the shade and eat I love Hungry Bear. It's so relaxing sitting by the Rivers of America.

Have to agree.... Blue Bayou. But mostly for the ambiance.
I've heard the desserts are really good so I'm excited to try the cookie boat on my next trip!

Dumb question...where is Goofy's kitchen?

Never been to Napa Rose. Where is that? anyone have the menu? Do you have to dress nice?

Goofy's Kitchen is on the first level of the Disneyland Hotel on the far side of the Neverland pool complex (in the Convention Center building).

The Napa is in the GRand Californian - First level - out back by the pool on the side facing the lobby (just past Storytellers and around the corner on the way to the DCA entrance).

The Napa doesn't have a dress code per se, but most people like Bis Casual or nicer. I've worn jeans in there plenty of times. It has a serene upscale ambiance, but it is Disneyland, after all!

Menu should be on Allearsnet.com or even on the main DIS pages. It changes seasonally (about 5 or 6 times/year), with whatever's fresh at the markets. They have some standard items. but a lot of time the entrees and some appetizers are based on a farmers market style. The Vintner's Menu (a 4 course tasting menu) changes weekly. Some of their most amazing items are on that menu.

If you ever get a chance to do his Valentine's lover's menu - it rocks!

Am I the only one that likes Plaza Inn!?! My husband and I always eat there when we go to DL. No its not fancy (or has costly) but its not burgers either!! a good in between! and I've never had a bad food experience (knock on wood!!) :thumbsup2

Cafe Orleans has recently become my favorite place to eat inside the park. I've only eaten lunch/dinner there, but one day I hope to try breakfast.

And if Downtown Disney counts, I highly recommend Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen!

Anybody else eaten in Club 33?
Plaza Inn has great Pot Roast!!!
I love the house salad at Cafe Orleans. You can't beat such a delicious salad for so little. Especially in DL.
If I remember correctly, duh I just had it last month with some pomme frites, it is baby greens with candied pecans, goat cheese (tastes good) and raspberry vinagarette for $2.99 mmmmmmmmm
