If you want a quiet Adult meal..I'd say Narcossee's
CG and Ohana tend to have lots of kids till fireworks time.
It is Disney after all so that's to be expected and you can't blame people
but for romance my pick is Narco.
For prime Wishes viewing it has to be California Grill. It's closer to MK and at the top of the Contemporary so you have a "birds eye view" of the fireworks.
Of the other options, Narcoossees will still have a good view because you are right on the lagoon and the atmosphere may be more intimate (it is Disney after all so there will be kids around no matter what).
You could also go to Ohana or Kona Cafe at the Poly and time the meal so you are finished just before Wishes starts so you can go out to the beach and relax to watch the fireworks from across the lagoon.
Thanks for the replies. It's not romance I'm after as I'm going with a friend. I just want to treat her to a really nice meal to say thanks and to kick off our dream holiday with something special.
Thanks so much for the replies, I really didn't realise you could watch Wishes from a restaurant other than CG.
Ohana is a gimmick restaurant with mixed reviews. Between Narcossees and California Grill I would recommend CG for their food. Don't real understand the need to go and dine to watch fireworks but will note that Narcoossees is at water/ground with an outside porch that anyone can access and instantly block your view just as the fireworks start.

There's plenty to be said for being one of the people that go outside to block the view. It's a great view, very much worth blocking. So don't worry about getting the window seat. You can see outside from the whole restaurant and the servers are more than prepared to help you go out and enjoy the fireworks.
Both restaurants will provide a great experience. If you've already been to one in the past, go to the other. California Grill is more of a "pretty food" (and pretty delicious!) restaurant and has a better wine list. Narcoossee's will likely have fewer kids, yet is still also a more relaxed meal. Go figure.
If nothing else breaks the tie, look at the two menus and pick the one your friend would prefer. You won't be disappointed.
Inside MK we've eaten at Crystal Palace (buffet w/characters) and stepped just outside in time to watch wishes. We've also eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern (family style w/characters and I hear in the process of being changed) but stepped out just in time to watch Spectromagic.
It's sort of a "high view" vs. a "low view" contest between CG and Narcoossee's. Food and wine as a consideration, CG is the better restaurant.
Both are often mobbed at fireworks time and at both, the view is fine from the decks--so no REAL need for a window table at either.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm not bothered about getting a window table. I just thought it would be nice to watch Wishes at some stage during dinner. Doesn't matter at all if we walk out onto a deck or viewing area to watch as long as the music is piped in. I have already been to CG (actually I thought the food was just okay but I think it was more to do with what I ordered) so this time I might try Narcoossee's. Thanks again for all the advice.
