We will be at WDW end of September with a 3YO and a 16-month old. We will be visiting all the parks, including AK, and I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense to make ADRs at AK and what the best place to eat there would be. Is it worth doing TS or should we just get counter service? TIA.

I would just do counter-service. Yak and Yeti has gotten good review. RF is ok. It just depends on what you want. IMO Flame Tree BBQ has great CS food.

Sweeties,
My family wich has a set of 3 year old twins never waste TS credit for lunch at AK. We do CS at the park for lunch-usually flame tree BBQ (they have PB&J sanwiches and some other kid friendly stuff), We do TS at Animal Kingdom Lodge at Boma. It is set up into PODS and there is one POD there that has kid food like chicken strips and great mac and cheese but the adults can then have adult food. Works out great for our family. We love it! Check out BOMA's!

AK doesn't really have much in the way of table service options, so I'd stick with counter service.

I think Pizzafari is probably your best bet with small kids. The theming is bright, colorful and fun, and the food includes pizza (obviously), PB&J and spaghetti...all things that all the small children I've ever known like (although messy).

Restaurantosaurus would probably be a safe pick as well if they like things like chicken nuggets, hot dogs or hamburgers, and it's also got a fun dinosaur/archaeology theme.

We always end up doing pizzafari - not my favorite but flame tree doesn't have anything that appeals to dd. If you want TS my vote goes with Boma, we like it for both breakfast and dinner. It's just a short bus ride from AK and really neat, the hotel is a visual treat too. Yak and Yeti at AK is new and I think is pretty hard to get a ressie there.

The food at Flame Tree is supposed to be great, but I'd hit an indoor, air-conditioned restaurant. When I was there in late Sept. it was miserbaly hot and humid and the kids will need an indoor break. One feels the heat more at AK than the other parks for some reason.

We got the latest possible seating for the character breakfast (Donald's Safari Breakfast). I think our ADR was for 10:40, but it was 11 before we were seated and eating. This served as our lunch, but we still got to enjoy a fun TS meal for the kids.
