Best resorts for family of five?

They all sound wonderful, I think I'll keep my ears opened for specials and think the Poly or Yacht Club sound like a deal for us. Whichever shows up for the best special will be the one we take- keep the ideas coming- I'm sure I'll change more than a few times. They all look too good- Grand Floridian looked very charming- hopefully we'll try that when are kids are older- at this age the creative pools win hands down! By the time they're teenages it won't be cool to go down those long slides- but I'm hoping they'll never feel that way!
Thanks

We stayed at PO-R this past June and we felt a little cramped. The rooms do not seem that much bigger than the All Star rooms, but definately more expensive. There was 5 of us and we had the trundle bed option. The themeing of the resort was really lush and very quiet.

to go, Imhall, but for our Dec trip, we're paying 189 per night for the Poly and 182 per night for the Yacht Club, with APs. I'd originally booked with the CKO code, and it wasn't much more than that!

We are also a family of 5 and we stayed Poly Conc. GV for $265 w/tax during the last week of August. If you are willing to spend $250 -- I know what we saved always having a snack, treat, soda, water or end of evening cocktail while the kids were exhausted and whiny was definitely worth more than $15 a night.

Our kids must be close in age ours are--- 6, 4, & 3 and they LOVED the Polynesian. Our 6 year old loved the slide, the beach and zero entry were perfect for the 4 year old and a lot of people don't mention it but, the squirting water fountain play area was a trip highlight for our three year old! DH would like to try the YC on our next trip but with kids 7 & under -- the monorail & the boat launch to MK cannot be beat. :Pinkbounc I think it is really about the age of the kids and which parks they are going to want to visit the most. We made 6 trips to the MK in 5 days and it was so quick and easy to stop back at the Poly before park hopping.

I cannot say enough good things about the Polynesian and families with young kids. (Just one "too cute comment" I have to share--Our 4 year old still tells everyone we went to Lilo's house on vacation!!)

One regret--- the Neverland Club looked like an absolute blast for our Peter Pan loving kids, unfortunately you have to be 4 to participate. I think I would choose the Poly for our next trip over YC for that reason alone!!

Do the All Stars offer adjoining rooms? We have three children who would be about 6, 5 and 2 when we go on-site (we're staying off site at our next visit in December). Not old enough for a room of their own of course, but if we had an adjoining room, I'd feel ok letting them sleep next door if the adjoining door was open.

We checked on this option- they do have adjoining rooms- you just need to specify this when making your reservation.

Drewc ~ What you need to ask for is CONNECTING ROOMS. Adjoining in hotel-speak means close by...one or two doors down or right next door but with no door between them. I know the moderate resorts have connecting rooms, and my guess would be that the All Stars do as well, but you'd need to ask to be sure. Also, emphasize (politely of course) that you would have young children in the connecting room, and they will do everything in their power to ensure that you get those connecting rooms. They don't want young children running around unsupervised any more than you do. But the wording is a definite case of "be careful what you ask for..." If you want the door between the two rooms, you want connecting rooms! :D

Hope that helps ~

Yes, the AS do have connecting rooms. We had 3 kids with 2 adults, and they guaranteed connecting rooms for us because of this. We've stayed there a couple of times with connecting rooms.
