We're all paid off to stay at POFQ starting 9/29 w/free dining, and recently I fell victim to an uncontrollable urge to stay at the WL. I do see Expedia rooms available for these dates but I have to book through WDTC. Do I have any hope, should I call every day, should I dash all hopes and focus on POFQ? Any advice? :thanks:

We too are booked at French Quarter and trying to decide if we want to upgrade to WL. If I had free dining, I would be chomping at the bit to upgrade. I would reason that I am getting my dining free! I guess you are trying everyday! Call in the am and call late evening! Good luck!

Just curious, Why do you want to switch??? We are trying to justfy paying more. Have you been to WL?

My DH is a resort snob and he's been working really hard lately and I thought it would be nice to give him a treat. Then MY mind got stuck on it and I finally cooked the books to make it do-able and then :screech: :halt: :airbag: SOLD OUT!!! He talked me back into being excited about POFQ, but the moment I told him that I was thinking WL (yes, we have stayed there) DH was all "DO IT!" and the dark truth came out that he wasn't really a fan of POFQ or any other Value/Mod. I'm a fan, because I'm the one who minds the money but I'm just having the most difficult time shaking the WL wanties-needies! That, and money tends to slip through my fingers :rolleyes1 and since POFQ is already paid off, and the food is free...my mind gets to wandering. I REALLY WANT WL!! I can't justify an Epcot or Monorail resort (not even sure if they're available either) and AKL is just too far.

Thats where we are! Just can't go up for the monorail resorts and can't even touch the BC and BWI! Would love to but, my sister has the American Advantage points that she can apply against a package, so we have to stay with the Disney resorts and can't book with DVC! Good luck an keep trying. Something may come available as you get closer to the 5 day no cancel clause for room onlys!

Good luck!

What is so much better about WL anyways?? Give me some reasons to tell my sister it is worth jumping up 400.00 for each family!

I just did it today. Have free dining, originally booked at ASMo. Called my AAA TA today, and she was able to upgrade me! I would just keep trying if you want to do it. We have had a tough several months, so we decided we deserved it and splurged! Good luck!

It's just cozy to the core. :goodvibes  :goodvibes: Any of the other Disney resorts can conceivably be found in Florida (Yes, a stretch with AKL, but still...warm climate stuff) whereas the WL is just sooooo warm and homey and so Disney-licious FAKE I can't help but :lovestruc it even more. It's easier to get places with the ferries and quicker access to the monorail. POFQ has a beautiful spread and the Sassagoula is a major draw for us, but no balcony, no jaw-dropping lobby, no fireside-warmy sense of "this is a GOOD vacation!!" I do love the POFQ, but now that I know how my DH feels about Mods/Vals, it has kind of lost its shine...and that lustre landed smack dab on WL. We've also stayed at BCV and the location is AWESOME, but the WL's themery is where it's at, IMHO. And definitely worth a $400 upgrade, I'm totally kicking myself for not booking it! If you have small ones, it'll be easier to get to the parks and its nice having everything under one roof. We're cramped in this house of ours and I look at POFQ photos and feel cramped (and we're just 2 adults) but when I look at WL I feel like I can breathe!

I did just call, they said I had to go through my TA (who had already told me no.) I asked what would be available for my dates and could only quote me the "Honeymoon at Club Level" suite at $380/night. NOT in the budget!!
