Best resort to see Wishes

Our first day we will be going to 1900 Park Fare for dinner, our res is at 6:35. I want to take the monorail to watch Wishes after. Where is the best place to go and see them? Should we stay and watch from the GF? I've heard Poly has a nice view......

No need to take the monorail, you can watch them from the GF The marina and boat dock are both nice spots. Since you are eating at 6:35 you'll have plenty of time to walk around the resort, take in some of the shops, etc. Sounds like a fun first night!

I would walk over to the Poly and stake out your spot on the beach. You can watch the water parade and then about an hour later Wishes. It is a very nice quiet spot. The GF has a nice view but it is at a 45deg angle to the MK, the poly is head on to the MK. Much better view imho. Your mileage may vary...

GF at the boat dock has a pretty close view of the fireworks, but as a pp noted you'll be viewing it at an angle (so not centered over the castle). Poly has a straight-on view, but it's farther away. My personal preference is watching at the Poly, but each one is nice.

I've watched Wishes from all 3 monorail resorts and my vote definitely goes to the Poly with the CR coming in 2nd. One very cool aspect of watching them from the Poly that is rarely mentioned is the fact that the fireworks are reflected on the water which looks awesome. The best spot to watch Wishes at the CR if you arent staying there is the 4th floor observation deck IMO

ITA . We also have watched from all 3 resorts and while we think the Poly beach is the best spot, the CR 4th floor observation deck would be our second choice as well .

Poly beach!! that was our favorite spot, plus you also get a front row seat for the Electric parade

All three of the resorts have a pretty good view, it just depends on the angle and closeness.

The GF dock: the fireworks appear to the left of the castle, but are pretty close. They pipe in the music.

The Poly beach: the fireworks appear centered to the castle (so a similar view to what you'd get inside MK on MS), but are further away. They do pipe in the music, but it can be hard to hear.

The Contemporary: the fireworks appear to the right of the castle. This is the view from CA Grill, which is markedly higher up than the 4th floor observation area, but still at the same angle. They pipe in the music.

Of the three resort views, I like either the Poly or the GF. The Poly is more centered, but further away. GF is off-center, but closer.

Nothing, IMO, compares to eating dinner by the window @ CAGrill while wishes is happening, but since OP is eating at 1900 Park Fare @ the GF, I'd just wander out the back and watch from the marina area of the GF after dinner - it's such a serene experience, as opposed to joining the crowds on the sands of the Poly beach. But, you can't go wrong at any of the spots mentioned.

All MK resorts, everyone seems to be forgetting WL. While it isn't the best view, you can see it well from 4,5,6th floor woods view balconies, and it is still pretty good, as I have seen it from there. FWC can not see it.

I'd planned to watch wishes after our Ohana dinner from the beach but recently realized that is a 8pm wishes night (dinner is @ 7:15). Not having been to poly in over ten years can you see the fireworks from the restaurant?

Depends on where they seat you - if you are near the windows, then yes, and I seem to recall the have the music, too.

I had a situation in 2011 where I was waiting for my DW and DS at the Poly. We were all at MK but I wanted to eat some sushi so I took the monorail over to the Poly while they waited to ride on Space Mtn. I ordered my sushi and headed down to the beach area to eat. Was I surprised when I starting hearing the music piped in and then I watched the entire fireworks show beach-side and eating my sushi. The coolest thing! The view was great too...

I guess by the pictures I saw of GF and CR, you can't go wrong at any resort. The fact that they pipe in the music is sweeeeeet!

By the way, if you're eating at O'hana, you can see the fireworks if you're near the windows. We never eat that late so we wouldn't know but every time we've been to eat there, we've had a window seat and the castle is in plain sight.

Great thanks Im hopeful an earlier time opens up (lqte for us with a 2 year old) if not fingers crossed for a window seat

I would never forget about WL - however the 4, 5th and 6th floor wood views balconies are a pretty specific areas to watch the fireworks from.

Last time I was at WL we got to watch Wishes from the roof and it was AMAZING!!!
