Best Resort Restaurants?

Of course i'm switching my dining plans a thousand times. But, we aren't getting park hopper passes this time around and i don't want to pick too many meals within the parks because that will make us stuck at that park for the day. And i don't really want to have fixed plans like that, i want to kind of base our decisions as we go. How's the weather? What park do we feel like that day? Which park do we want to go back to because we missed something or want to do things again? So i'd rather have most of our ADRS in resorts or just not inside the parks.

These are our set in stone restaurants:

'Ohana Breakfast
Whispering Canyon Cafe Dinner
Flying Fish Cafe' Dinner
Kona Cafe Breakfast

We also want to eat at different restaurants, so we don't want to eat at Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare, 'Ohana, Cape May Cafe, Boma, or Mickey's backyard bbq.

Thanks!

Boma (dinner) in the AKL
The Wave in the Contemporary
Kona (lunch) in the Poly

These are our faves

Kona breakfast or lunch
Boma breakfast
GFC dinner
The Wave dinner
Cape May for breakfast or dinner
Flying Fish
Citrico's
Cali Grill
BlueZoo
Il Mulino

I haven't tried these places but they are on my short list for our May trip:

Maya Grill
Turf club Bar & Grill

We are also considering Ragland Road in DTD. We ate there back in '06 & the whole family loved it. We haven't been back simply because there are so many different places to try but it is on my short list too.

Good luck choosing! :)

If you're looking to try ones that are off the beaten path, how about Boatwrights, Maya, and Turf Club? You ruled out Boma - what about Sanaa or Jiko? Shutters if Carribean spices are appealing to the group?

Boma for dinner is really good. I was skeptical since it's technically a "buffet", but it was great! I wish I had some of the mustard sauce right now. Mmmmm.

LOL, everyone keeps suggesting Boma and that's on your ruled out list! Aye yi yi!!!!:confused3

How about:
1. Olivia's Cafe @ Old Key West - Awesome crab cakes & conch Chowder

2. Il Mulino New York Trattoria @ the Swan - I had dinner here over the summer and OMG the food is AMAZING. I had the Tortellini Alla Panna and friends had Pappardelle and Gnocchi Bolognese. BEST ITALIAN FOOD ON PROPERTY, sorry Mama Melrose's and Tutto Italia

3. Captain's Grille @ Yacht Club (for Lunch) - Great food and often overlooked. The New England Lobster Roll is quite tasty. You can also get a tuna or shrimp salad croissant sandwich with a cup of New England clam chowder or the soup of the day.

Don't get me wrong we love Boma for dinner. We've done it the last three trips. We're just looking for different places this time around.

Our two favorites are Kona for lunch and Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner. Both are outstanding! Don't particularly like Whispering Canyon or the Maya Grill.

GFC breakfast
Wolfgang Pucks dinner

We liked the GFC a lot. It seems to be underrated due to the popularity of 1900 Park Fare. So if you are looking for a delicious breakfast in a quiet place it's great. I had the lobster eggs benedict and it was awesome.

This would be my choice hands down. Olivia's is very underrated and its great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Banana Bread French Toast was delicious! I can't wait to go back there in February. Also, the service is excellant, as we found the wait staff to be extra friendly which of course is to be expected from Disney!
