My DH, DS1 (3 years old), DS2 (19months) and I will be heading to Disney in mid-September for a few days fo Disney fun. Since this will be the first time we have both boys there I was wondering what resort would be best for us to stay in. We're trying to pick somewhere that makes it easy to "move" with the boys (read: get to the parks with all our stuff and back for nap) and yet isn't overly expensive. Plus we want them to enjoy the hotel as much as we have during our past stays in Disney. We did take DS1 to AKL when he was 9 months old - which was great and easy b/c he was still stroller bound. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Poly or Cont. would be ideal since they are on the monorail. Quick departures back to the rooms for naps.

Poly is convienant because of the monorail. When DS was 2.5, 3.5 and 4, we stayed at POFQ because it is small, the boat ride to DTD is nice, the pool was fine, the playground isn't on sand, and no matter what room we were in, we weren't that far from the bus stop, although we did request it each time. Now with 2 kids, we have been staying at ASmovies. It does take a bit longer for the bus, but we have been able to maneuver it well.

Another vote for the Poly. The monorail makes it SOOO convenient for kids. I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old and when we went over Christmas, I thanked God we had the monorail to take to our hotel. At the end of the day, it's nice to not have to wait for a bus and just go back to the room.

Good luck in deciding!

Monorail resorts are a plus, but Wilderness Lodge also has a boat direct to MK which can be fun for kids.

If you want to go with a Monorail Resort the Contemporary would be the closest one to the Magic Kingdom, because it's the next stop on the Resort Monorail when leaving from there and because of the walkway which also goes there. Plus when taking a bus back from Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney, it's also the 1st stop since it shares service with the Polynesian and Grand Floridian.

Thanks everyone. I think a monorail property it will be. My oldest son LOVES trains so he'll be thrilled to ride it everyday :goodvibes

I'm in a similar situation and going around the same time...

Probably going with the contemporary...we need 2 rooms, so it will be pricey, but should be worth it with the monorail.

I have also considered the Swan, its much cheaper and has the boat to epcot, plus busing...

But, in the end you cant beat a monorail resort for that convenience...

I see you've already decided on the monorail resorts (which is a GREAT decision with young children....been there done that). However, I noticed in your original post, you mentioned a resort that isn't overly expensive, so I just wanted to add that if the monorail resort prices are too crazy for you :faint: then don't forget to consider WL. It is not on the monorail loop, but it is right next to the Contemporary and only a boat ride away from MK. Also, it literally takes about 2 minutes to boat over to the Contemporary so you can eat at Chef Mickeys! Then just walk over to MK afterward. Then just boat back to WL when you are finished at MK. WL is not as convenient as the monorail resorts, but it's just something to consider as you are pricing things out. If cost is not a factor and MK is not necessarily your main resort, then take a look at Beach Club. The sandy pool is fantastic for kids your ages and you can walk to both Epcot and HS, which is great when you have strollers and sleeping kids.

When you look at the different prices of the Monorail Resorts, a Standard Garden Wing room at the Contemporary would be the least expensive room you can get.

When we decided that we were going deluxe, we decided we had to go all the way. So we sprang for the Contemporary theme park tower view. It cost considerably more, but I couldn't imagine living out my dream of staying at the contemp. and not waking up to the castle outside my window every morning. Plus it helped that we had a 40% off pin code! good luck!

The resorts on the monorail loop in the MK area are easiest with toddlers, no doubt about it!

Bingo. The Poly has the added feature of walking distance to the Epcot monorail
