Best resort for Christmas time

This will be our 1st trip during the Christmas festivities. What is the best resort to stay in during this time. All opinions, experiences, etc. appreciated.

Do you mean this year? We go every xmas week and make our reservations at our dvc at 11 months. That being said, WL is beautiful for the holidays, as is GF with the gingerbread house. We stay at our home resort of OKW and vist other resorts for meals, etc. I would look into this soon as you may have difficulty getting days you want at the resort you want. good luck.

Of the MK resorts, the GF or the WL have the most spectacular decorations. I love the GF but the lobby gets a bit crowded with all the people visiting the Gingerbread House. As for the EPCOT resorts, the BC, YC and BW all have amazing decorations. No matter where you stay make sure you take time to visit all the deluxe resorts to see their decorations.

DW and I have been to WDW during 1st week of Dec.
3 times stayed at WL each time and have visited all resorts to see decorations.
Have to say that WL is best followed by GF.
WL just feels like Christmas with it's 7 story tree and the whole lodge decorated like an old fashioned Christmas.

My vote would be for the Wilderness Lodge. This December will be our 5th stay at the WL for Christmas. We just love the huge Christmas Tree in the lobby area. We also like to sit in the rocking chairs by one of the cozy fireplaces throughout the hotel. When we think of Christmas, we think of the WL. Happy planning!

Thanks for the help. We have stayed at the WL before. It is great, so it doesn't surprize that it seems to be the hands down winner. I was considering a resort we have never been to. Like BC, YC, BW.

The year we went in December we stayed at the BC and it was very nicely decorated .....but if you're looking for that WOW for the holidays, I have to agree with everyone else who said the WL . The WL is beautiful any time of year, but is especially gorgeous during the holidays :.

I started a new family tradition 5 years ago to take them on a DCL for Christmas...

However,, we stay at GF before or after... its the only resort for Christmas..

I've never been at Christmas time, but I would say that every time there's a thread about this, WL always comes out as the hands down winner. Good luck deciding, and have a great trip!

We went in mid December 2008, for an early Christmas trip. We did not stay at the WL, but did have dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe. At first, I was bummed that we were seated on the "back porch" of the restaurant rather than in the main dining room. That quickly changed, however, when I realized that we had an amazing view of the Christmas tree in the lobby. There was also a handbell choir performing Christmas music in the lobby. Simply awesome!

Normally the Beach Club is our very favorite resort, and it DID have some very need decorations. The chocolate and gingerbread carousel is beautiful, but the WL has a very cozy feel during cold weather. I would highly recommend it for Christmas time.

Without a doubt the WL is THE CHRISTMAS RESORT. It is so beautiful, woodsy, fire cracklin and feels like u r at the lodge where all Grandma's should live lol.

WL or GF...there are no other resorts that say Christmas as much as these two IMO. GF has a slight edge because of the monorail and the Gingerbreadhouse, but either would be a great choice.

All the resorts were immaculately decorated but the WL (in my opinon) seem to have the most warm and inviting atmosphere~as if you were home!

Yep, WL is a very cozy and lovely resort at Christmas. If you have a chance, go see AKL too. The lobby has the same "footprint", with the high, open space, and they also put up a huge tree, but the ornaments are so different (following the theming of the AKL). A visit to AKL is worthwhile anytime, but extra special at Christmas!
