Best resort for 1st Holiday stay over Thanksgiving

We did a Gran Destino / WL split Thanksgiving week this past year (GDT for 3 nights, WL the balance). Perhaps an odd split but we really enjoyed it. Gran Destino is surprisingly beautiful for the holidays, and of course WL is really hard to beat when the tree/decorations are up.

The WL holiday background music really set the tone for a wonderful start to our holiday season.

That goes against what I would normally say for busy holiday times - where I typically look for resorts with multiple transportation options and ideally at least one park you can walk to. During busy weeks, there is absolutely value in places like BW where you can walk to two parks. Assuming we eventually get back to normal Thanksgiving crowds, I wouldn’t discount transportation. But if that doesn’t matter to you and you like to drive, obviously n/a.

Planning our first holiday trip for Thanksgiving 2021. We are currently booked at Wilderness Lodge for the "traditional" Christmas feel. However, this wouldn't be our 1st resort choice normally so now I'm second guessing if we should switch resorts. Which resort do you feel would be best for a holiday trip? Me, DH & 15 DD, most likely will have a car. We've done Coronado and Poly on past trips.

If you will have a car, I think WL is a great choice during the holidays. We stayed at CCV during the holidays a few years ago and it is just stunning. We like to park hop a lot (particularly to EP in the afternoons) and I did not find WL convenient in terms of transportation, however, with your own car, that becomes less of an issue. We really loved our stay there and love visiting Ft. W via boat from WL to see the holiday decorations over there as well.

I would choose Boardwalk if you aren’t open to Beach or Yacht. We stayed at BC for Thanksgiving and loved the location. This year we will be at the Swan.
