Best resort for 15 mth old?

Hi! I'm new here! Dh and I have been to Disney many times together but this a first with a young toddler. We prefer to stay on property but we do consider off. It usually doesn't happen though. We were wondering if there was one resort or a few that are better for kids this age. We were considering the CR b/c of its location and the monorail. We were also considering the Y or BC resorts b/c of their location and their pool. I think it would be great for a kid this age b/c of the sand bottem and the fact that you can walk right into it. We've stayed at the YCR. We are also very fond of the WL. Thank you for all of your help!

Your two ideas were going to be my suggestions!You can't go wrong with either BC or CR.With a baby that age it's nice to have access to the monorail and to be able to walk to MK from CR or to Epcot from BC.When one of mine was 16 months we stayed at BC she loved the Cape May character Breakfast,even at that young age,because it's all animal characters Chip,Dale ,Goofy etc Have a great time!

I would recommend any resort on the monorail. But, the Beach Club does have a good pool!

i too am about to venture to WDW with a 13 month old.. we are staying at the poly conceirge/BWI... their pool is zero entry.. it's on the monorail, and i think we'll be spending quite some time in MK.. anyway, i don't know what the best resort for a young toddler would be..

i guess it depends on which park you plan on staying at the most.. or try splitting your stay, as we are doing..

I went when my daughter was 15 months old. We stayed at the Poly (but then we tend to stay there anyways). I wouldn't of had it any other way.

I hate the buses & avoid them as much as I can with a stroller, a cooler & a diaper bag in toll it gets old. We usually park hop back from MGM-take the boat to EPCOT, eat lunch there & then take the monorail back to the TTC & walk-no bus involved.

One other thing that we found quite useful on that trip in 2002 was that we actually used our lanai (we requested bottom floor). Normally we walk out on the balcony, look & then go back in to the a/c or leave the room.

But we locked front door to our room & we were able to let our daughter nap when we returned for mid-day breaks while we sat outside & listened for her. We each took turns doing laundry, getting drinks, my husband left me with a pocket full of quarters & played video games. It was nice not to be in the stuck in the room with her while she was napping.

So I'd say go for a deluxe but it looks like you already have your mind made up on doing a deluxe this way you can have a balcony, sort of like another room.

But everyone has their own choice as to where they like to stay. BTW, I loved the Beach Club when I stayed there, the pool was to die for.

BTW, I am going this summer & my daughter will be 4 & my son will be 21 months & again we are staying at the Poly & I requested a bottom floor room for the nap purpose.

Certainly anything on the monrail loop is good, but anything on the Boardwalk loop is good too - (YC, BC, BWK). The Swan is a great choice too, if you qualify for any of their discounts. It has 3 pools! (though only one has a slide), and fantastic beds with lots of extra pillows These hotels aren't as close to the MK, but they are close to both Epcot AND MGM!
In any case, being able to go back to the hotel quickly is a good thing, especially with a little one.

I agree with the recommendations that you have received so far. Our first trip with the girls occurred when they were 11 months and 33 months That trip was at the Swan, which was nice as I enjoyed walking the boardwalk area in hte morning with the stroller while DH was in a conference. That fall we were back, this time at the CR, I have to admit the monorail is awesome with a front/back type double stroller! I preferred rolling it onto the monorail to walking to EPCOT. I still remember the bellman unloading our Expedition saying "28 PIECES OF LUGGAGE?! I kept saying, but you're counting diaper packs and formula packs and a stroller............ trying to justify my constant tendency to overpack
