Not sure if there is a thread for this, but I'm just curious to hear what some of the absolute best rates/deals people have gotten for WDW resorts. No specific dates in mind, more curious to see what the lowest rates people have gotten for the last year and how they got them. :)

The best deal ever for us was the $49 a nite after 9/11. The rate was great but no way do I ever want to see it for a reason like that ever again. :sad2: It was a sad time too as the parks were so empty. Nice to walk onto rides but it was a reminder of what had happened. It was also an affirmation of faith as we decided to go while others were staying away in fear. :grouphug:

The Free Dining this past year has to have been the VERY best deal as it ended up costing us $80 a day (ASsp) and that was the room and our food, and what food it was!!!:thumbsup2 Since we already had our AP's from the previous trip and I did not count the one day tickets as we will use them toward our next AP's we had no added expense there. We ended up staying for TWENTY ONE laid back and relaxing days and took an extra day going down and back and still ended up with several hundred dollars left in our vacation account for our 2007 trip.

Anytime you are able to go is a good trip, no matter the cost. The cheapest trips are good but they are often at times when you miss special things. The best of both worlds IMO is right after Thanksgiving when the rates are lower AND you get to see all the holiday decorations BEFORE the crowds arrive.

Best wishes and hope to see you there, whenever,

January 2003 we paid $88 (plus tax) a night for POFQ. We were thrilled w/ that rate!
We got that rate using a code from mousesavers.

We had $49 a night at value resorts in 2001 and $55 a night in 2002 with a code. Took advantage of it both times! In response to the other poster about 9/11 - we were there on 9/11 (at $49 a night - had booked it 2 months prior) - we had no choice but to stay an extra 3 nights - no flights - and when we got the bill they charged us $49 a night for the nights we had reserved & $119 or $149 for the extra 3 nights we had to stay. I wrote to them not asking for a freebie, but to see if they could extend the $49 rate to the extra 3 nights, rather than the rack rate. They were nice enough to comp the extra 3 days in full & send us a refund!

Paid $79 a night for the AKL standard room last December 2005 and was upgraded to a Savanna View -- 60% cast holiday discount.

$46 a night at All Star Sports in September 2005, due to a Government Employee discount! :cool1: Combined that with low DING fares on Southwest and had a very inexpensive vacation!

In June of 2005 we got a code (through these boards that supposedly wasn't public) and we were able to stay at WL for 124 per night!!! INCREDIBLE. Now of course we are HOOKED on WL and paying a fortune for future vacations at WL in the summer w/ no codes, but oh well!

The best rate I got was $49/night AP rate at PC in December 2003. PC was only 3 days old when we arrived. I don't think I have ever stayed in a brand new hotel before. Our APs expired 12/24/03, so it was a 5 day pre-Christmas trip for DS and myself. VERY cheap trip!

$85 per person per day that included tickets, hotel and DDP back in Aug 2005. We stayed at all-stars.:goodvibes

We got an AP discount of $149.00/night for a courtyard view at WL Jan '05 and an AP discount of $79.00 at POFQ Dec '05.

I received a code in 11/04 for 2/05 value-$49, Moderate-$59, and Deluxes-$89. I don't think I'll ever see that again.:sad1:

$179/nt over Christmas at Grand Floridian in 2004, upgraded to a suite (AP discount, checked in on the last night of Value Season so rate applied for whole stay, not sure why we were upgraded - maybe they had oversold the regular rooms?)

Nov 2006 $54 (including tax) 5 nights ASMu and was upgraded to a suite:banana: . This was through USair vacations.

My husband and I spent 21 days at the ASports in Sept/Oct and spent right around $2,000 and that included tickets to La Nouba and an Illuminations Cruise. I still have hundreds of dollars left in last years budget toward this years trips.:cheer2:

This is not counting the tickets we had to buy as I will be turning them into AP's at a later date so that was a wash IMO.

Nothing like a nice, slow, relaxing theme park vacation and when it is so cheap you do not need to rush, rush.

In 2004 we got one night at Wilderness Lodge for $99. I tacked it on to my Beach Club Villas vacation. Unfortunately, we stayed the one night at the lodge and then moved to the villas. We fell in love with Wilderness Lodge and now we are spoiled! The $99 was a good investment for Disney.

2005 POFQ $79.00 ap discount and $205.00 for Polly free upgrade to MK View.

2006 first of the week stayed at POR around $100.00 had to change and go to ASM for the next 8 days as this was all reserved on a whilm. Nothing I tried would allow us the entire stay at one resort. We go to check in at ASM to find out they overbooked us and had nothing available. They gave us our choice of resorts. We started with GF but the only thing they had open next was Contemp Tower lodging. We only paid $59.00 a night. That was a great deal.

Can I ask how you got the Government discount?
:confused3
