Best rate for Grand Califorian?

We are hoping to drive up to DL this May! We would love to stay at the GC, how do I go about getting the best rate? I am considering getting an AP, do they offer room discounts for AP holders the way they do at the WDW resorts?
Any thoughts?

Yes, they do offer AP rates. They also do AAA.

We just got back tonight from DL. We paid $139 for Sunday and $159 Mon-Wed. for a DTD View with an AP discount. It was worth every penny!

The current AP discounst only go to March 28th. I am patiently waiting for the next round as we currently have ressies for April 23-30 and the AP rate was $298/night for a theme park view. Generally you can do much better. We have APs and get them just for the room savings that are usually available. Hopefully they come out soon.

We are going to GC in June. I don't have an AP but am willing to buy one if there is a good chance of a decent discount. Do I need to have the AP to book a room or can I get it later? I'm not sure if the policy is the same as the WDW resorts. I'm sure early June is a fairly busy time- is there a chance that there won't be any better discounts? Now its only 10%. Does anybody know? I recently made an AP reservation for Paradise Pier and the CM asked for our AP number, but I'm sure not all of them do.

Hi there,

Sorry to sound so stupid, but could someone please explain to me what an AP is? I'm new to this board and don't know all the lingo. We are goind to DL for Easter and are planning on staying at the Hilton because of the great rate but if there is something better out there, I would love to know.

AP= Annual Pass

Be advised though that You only get really good AP discounts on the off season- Easter I would give a good bet you wont get any or very little-

Speaking of AP's. I have a SoCal AP (best deal on earth for $105.00), do you get discounts at DL hotels with a SoCal AP? I would love to just get away for a couple of days in November.

You should be just fine with a So-Cal AP- I think it really depends on the time of visit for deals not the pass itself-
