On our first day we are planning on walking from HRH to early entry at US (8am). Where is the best/easiest/most convenient place to grab a snack en route, I am thinking probably something that we can eat in line while we wait for the park to open? Ideally not going too far out of our way. Thanks!

I'm curious about this too ... from a Portofino perspective --- something quick / healthy that would include a protein - like a breakfast wrap that included a scrambled egg (for example)?

Thanks for everyone's help!

My boys are probably thinking more pastries than protein! But all suggestions gratefully received! Especially of places that will be open at 7am or thereabouts.

Zebsterama - looks like we will be there similar times, we are doing HRH and Beach Club!

Cool! :-) There's me, DW, DS 14, DD,12. Really looking forward to this one!

Last time we were at Uni (2 summers ago I think - the summer Diagon Alley opened ... getting old can't even remember haha!) we did 9 nights at HRH. Apologies I can't really be much help regarding your question, mainly because we stayed in club - so breakfast was always in the club room.

Here's what I do know ... unless something has changed (or there's something I don't know - which is very very possible), if you're going to Universal Studios from HRH, then you're likely walking (it's so so close), in that case (unless something got built since we were last there) you'd almost have to grab a snack in the hotel itself. There are no options on the way walking, unless you plan to take the boat to City Walk, which honestly to me, doesn't make any sense. Can someone on the board with more knowledge please confirm / elaborate? Thanks!

On the other hand, if you're going to Islands of Adventure, then taking the boat from HRH, makes sense. That gets you to the City Walk port, then you walk to IOA. Unfortunately I can't tell you about a snack option (again for the same reason - sorry :-(). I will say that again, in my opinion, for IOA early mornings, that again grabbing something in the hotel makes more sense. Why? I'm thinking grabbing something at City Walk before you hit IOA (although makes a lot more sense as opposed to Universal mornings) is still a little bit off course. If efficiency of time is the primary factor, then grabbing something at HRH makes the most sense to me.

A couple of more things ... since (as you can see) brevity is not my strong suit. Haha!

If this is your first trip (that 9 nighter was ours) at Universal Parks, HRH is an an awesome fun hotel, and Universal is so very different than Disney (not a knock) - you're going to love it!

Since you're going mid to end August, the pace should be even better!

FYI - only 3 nights at Uni this time. Trying Portofino, because we've been/love Italy, loved the Hotel when we checked out the pool one day during our last trip. I have to admit, comparatively we think the pool at Porto was more to our tastes than HRH. That being said, HRH is awesome. Do yourself a favour have dinner (one night) at The Kitchen restaurant in the hotel. Great food and service ... and the price wasn't insane.

Also if this is your first Uni trip, you have to do Mythos - at least once!

Our plan was 7 nights at Beach Club (love it there), but trying BWV for first time instead.

Enjoy your trip, and good luck getting your answer!

Hi. We stayed at HRH in March for 4 days. To save money and time ( we were at gate gate 30 min. Before scheduled opening) we ate breakfast in the room.

You can ask housekeeping for utensils, bowls and plates. There is a decent size mini fridge.

We brought milk and a box of cereal, croissants, cheese, Nutella, crackers, granola bars, fruit and juice.

If you don't have a car, some car services will do a 30 min. Stop at grocery store. And I guess there's delivery as well.

And voila!

Best option is to grab something at Emack & Bolio's Marketplace at HRH before leaving and take it with you.

Any quick options at Porto for this, or on the way?

Thanks!

There's a Starbucks at PBH??
My wife is going to be in heaven!

Thanks!

Like Bluer said the Starbucks at PBH is a great morning quick breakfast option. We always start our morning there. Also you can take your coffee with you on the boat ride over to the parks. Nice to savor it to the last drop ::yes::

Orchid court lounge for those coming from rpr

They open 6 am every morning

What time does Emack & Bolio's Marketplace open in the morning? And what sort of breakfast items do they have? Thanks

I like doing breakfast in the room. I pack a bowl and spoon for each person so we can have cereal or oatmeal (hot water from coffeemaker). I also pack applesauce cups/pouches, cereal bars or granola bars.

We will have a grocery stop this time so I will also get muffins, pieces of fruit and yogurt. I will probably grab some PB and a loaf of bread also.

I believe 6 am also. They have pretty much what Orchid lounge has. I can try to grab a photo of that later too.

I always share an early morning Simpsons donut with my wife. It's awesome!!

Yes, it's a money pit for us too. We loaded are Starbucks app this trip and not once used it yet. With them in the parks too it's hard to avoid. Talk about will power.

I have not read anything..... Disclaimer

I always get a churro as soon as I get in the park as my breakfast and then eat a pack of lance peanut butter crackers later on. Oh and I get my $1.19 Coke refill for my morning caffeine.

I think I glanced and saw other people mention the morning quick breakfast hubs at the resorts. Those have bagels and fruits. Apparently hard rock also serves breakfast, but that would not be a fun thing to eat in line. (Imagining eating a Belgian waffle in line:rotfl2:) I can't be trusted with syrup at a table much less in line!

We've done a few things.. The breakfast in the room, Starbucks at City Walk, bring breakfast bars with us to eat in line and then grab the famous and delicious Simpsons donut as a morning snack!
