Best quality for 8x10 prints?

either .com or B&M store is fine. We are trying to get some photos into a shop for sale so we want the best prints possible. Would prefer the best quality at the best price as well : )

I use mpix.com for all my important stuff, they do an awesome job, and their metallic paper is way cool...

Have you tried Costco? They are pretty high quality, plus you can go to their website and download the color profiles for the specific machine at the specific store, so that you can adjust your pictures according to their color print profile before you send them in (via the web or in person).

If it really matters though, take'em to a professional who will take a look personally at each photo printed. Try them out, I think you'll be surprised.

But they are hit and miss if you do not turn off their auto corrections. It is no big deal to some but I took the time to calibrate and I adjust every photo to my liking so I dont want their computer deciding to shift the color for me...

online mpix.com is great. Locally I go to a local lab that handles traditional printwork as well as photographs if I want the best quality I can get. It costs a little more but IMO is worth it, especially if they are for resale. I personally have yet to see really good prints come from my local Sams, Wal-Mart, CVS, etc..

Making sure your monitor is calibrated to their print process is really the only way to be sure that you will get the exact print you adjusted on your screen. Though I do agree with turning off any auto corrections.

As mentioned above, their profiles are available online.

But one does not calibrate to their print process, you just proof with the profile in question.

I've used ritzcamera.com and picked up locally with great results. Everything from 4x6's to 11x14's. I regularly do 8x12's there that end up being hung on our walls.
