Hi:
Would anyone like to share where they have their digital prints processed? I've tried a few online places but haven't been impressed.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Michelle

A lot of people use Mpix or smugmug. I've used Scrapbook pictures.com and was really happy with them. I have a smugmug acct but haven't ordered from them as of yet. Our local Costco does a great job. If you're a Costco member you can have them mailed to you if you're not able to pick them up.

Hi Michelle,

Are there any real camera store around you? Try them first. Where are you located? Many of the online services are sent out of the country to be printed so the quality is all over the place.

for anything really important I don't go anywhere but MPIX,

MPIX is a division of Miller labs which is one of the largest and oldest professional labs in the country

for quicky stuff to share with family I use my local walmart which actually does a great job

I can upload to the store and pic up my pics within an hour..

as for post processing a good private lab is OK for that, but if you want real control of your work good photo editing software such as Corels Paint SHop Pro Photo X2, or Adobes photo shop, will allow you to process your pics exactly the way you want them, then any decent lab can print them..

I agree with the Grays. If you want real quality, find a local shop that does quality work. The good ones will discuss with you what you want done, what corrections you may wish to make, etc. If you get the right person to post-process with you, it will make a world of difference. But, they will be much more expensive than using your local Snapfish (or whatever) so you'll want to do this for your best work.

I only upload to places that allow me to turn off all corrections(auto or human), I send in the images exactly as i want them printed and it would be counter productive for them to be corrected.

Costco allows me to upload and turn off all corrections, and I am very satisfied with them. And I have not found any lab that does a better job regardless of price, unless I need a special kind of paper.

Mpix is good. I recommend them to clients that get digital files.

I use a pro lab for all of my stuff, including snapshots. I save them and throw them in with a client order that doesn't meet my lab's minimum order. ;)

I recomment www.mpix.com also. They have great customer service and do quality prints. You can also turn off all corrections.

This was a report from one of thje professional retail marketing accosiation i belong to. When the price of online prints drop big time they checked out come of the labs. They did not tell us which labs they were though.

We've had good luck with Clark photo lab, and also with our local Walgreens for snapshots. Occasionally we get emails from Walgreens offering free 5x7 or 8x10 processing, and I have been pleased with the result.

We had awful experiences with our local Target and Walmart stores.

In fact, the WalMart photo bozos have the distinction of driving me the closest I've ever been to channeling Michael Douglas in "Falling Down".

I've had good luck with MPIX up to 11x17. A friend of my ordered Canvas prints also from them and was impressed.

I ordered a gallery wrap from mpix today. I'll let everyone know what I think of it when it arrives.

another thought on MPIX I had a 16x24 printed by them and mounted on the hardboard, it was awesome

And another Mpix person here!!!!!!! :thumbsup2
