Best QS Restaurants

Hi! I'm wondering what everyone's favorite QS (quick service) restaurants are (at both parks). We are doing a quick trip in October and aren't wanting to spend too much this time around. In the past we have mostly eaten TS (table service) with some snacks in between. We like to try just about anything, but don't eat pork or red meat.

Also, anyone have a favorite, not-to-be-missed Halloween food at the parks?

My favorite QS locations are the French Market (DL) and Plaza Inn (DL).

Assuming this year is similar to past years, select locations have one HalloweenTime-themed item. The Disney Food Blog has a pretty good listing (with photos!) of some of the options from the past (note that the items can vary from year-to-year), as does the HalloweenTime SuperThread. There are also lots of sweets (e.g., see this Parks Blog entry) and goodies available at the candy shops throughout the park.

My new favorite is Smoke Jumpers in DCA. It used to be Taste Pilots and has the same menu. But I don't know how I missed their yummy chicken sandwich there! Add on the great toppings from the toppings bar and super yum! We now like it better than the chicken sandwich at Whitewater Snacks which seems to have gotten smaller (along with their nachos)

There are some really good bakery goodies for Halloween time - I can't remember any specific names of them. We always found something yummy to try!

I love taking the monorail from Disneyland to Downtown Disney and eating at Earl of Sandwich. It's cheaper than the food in the parks and tastes great!

I'm with Figment. French Market and Plaza Inn are my favorites in DL. I also love sweets.

I don't really love any of the quick service in DCA, but the clam chowder in or out of the bread bowl at Pacific Wharf Cafe is something I get a craving for and enjoy during cooler weather, and the pastas and salads at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta are pretty good too. The meatballs at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta are much better than the ones at Pizza Port in DL. My family loves Pizza Port though for the tomato basil pasta or the alfredo fusilli.

Earl of Sandwich is usually something we try to fit in once per trip if we end up in DtD. It's a decent value for the resort, and we all have something we like there.

Oh man, why haven't I thought of that! I love their sandwiches, but we usually have a hotel on the other side of DL so we don't go all the way over. Plus I can convince the kids that it's a "ride on the monorail". I can almost taste that Hawaiian!

My other favorite QS meal is the clam chowder bowl and Pacific Wharf Cafe. Eating that on a cool evening makes everything right.

Note that every year some things disappear and some things appear. Also, the designs of certain items will change from year to year, as will some of the savory meals. But the list is a general guideline.

I really like Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney, Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel and Plaza Inn in Disneyland. Check the Candy Palace, Jolly Holiday Bakery and Pooh Corner in DL, Trolley Treats in DCA and Marceline's Confectionery in DTD for any season-specific sweets and baked goods.

The monorail station is literally right across from Earl of Sandwich! I also love the soup in a sourdough bread bowl at either Pacific Wharf Cafe or the gumbo place by Pirates.

My current favorite is the BBQ chicken stuffed baked potato at the Harbour Gallery across from the Haunted Mansion.

I somehow missed this place for YEARS before I found out about it.

They also make a mean lobster roll.

At DL you cannot beat the fried chicken at Plaza Inn. In DCA the onion rings are fantastic. The cheese burger is pretty good as well. The Lucky Fortune cookery is also one of our favorites.

I like smaller portions and so does my friend, disneyluvr2, so we like the kid's meal at Hungry Bear. You get a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink for about $5. We also love the Hawaiian burger at Tangaroa Terrace (also served at Trader Sam's) at DLH. Also love the bacon, cheddar, and sour cream baked potato from Harbor Galley, and LOVE the cheddar garlic bagel twists from Maurice's, in the Princess area across from the theater. They're huge!

I'm confused about Maurices. It doesn't show on any map or on Disney's list of dining. Those garlic cheddar bagels look great and I would like to figure this out. Would this happen to be Troubador Tavern?

Maurice's is a cart in the Fantasy Fair area. It has those yummy cheese twists as well as strawberry and chocolate twists.

In the Fantasy Faire area, there is the Royal Theater. Just across from it, on the hub side, is Maurice's.
