Kind of surprised that the Ref's apparently allowed it to stand, but I don't know much about football rules, especially for a middle school. I am guessing there is probably something that would prevent this in the NFL?

How could that possibly be a legal play? The center has to snap the ball between his legs.

Picking up the ball with one hand and handing it to quarterback, who's moved up to the line of scrimmage can't possibly be a legal movement.

They said on the news report that it was a side snap and that is legal-- they set up for a snap to the left side.
