My daughter is planning her 16 year old party as a trip to Disney in June. We are owners at AKV and love it but I was thinking for something special, I'd try to get a different property... Bat Towers on the monorail or Beach Club for the pool. ANy ideas????

My teenagers love SSR because of DTD. Every evening they would walk over there and get snacks or browse the stores. There's usually decent entertainment on the stage, too.

Either BWV or BCV; both give option of walking to many places to eat, resorts to browse, etc., bike around Crescent Lake, evening entertainers at BW & carnival games, walk or boat to Epcot & DHS. SAB would be a definite hit ( you'd need to stay at BCV to got to SAB since pool hopping is not allowed there ).

:goodvibes

No question, BCV. We did this for my daughter's 16th bday where she brought 3 other friends. We stayed at BCV for 10 days and they still talk about it 6 years later. You do not have to worry about transportation for 2 of the parks. With the pool and boardwalk area there is so much for them to do. They had a great time and I was not always worrying.

In my HO, BWV for sure. My kids LOVED it as teens, and now they are waiting for their 21st so they can get into Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance.
Walking distance to Epcot, on top of restaurants, and ESPN (which has a video game section and is open late for late night snacking:goodvibes), and there's a 200 foot winding slide at the main pool, with a jacquzzi just behind the quiet pool, AND community hall with bike and dvd rentals.

Have lots of fun!

Personally, at 16, I'd ask her if she has a preference of resort for her party. I assume it isn't a surprise party. Her thoughts may be completely different than anyone else's.

Anywhere there are lots of 16 year old boys would be a good choice for her, maybe not so good for you.

We just did this last year. We stayed at BCV and also brought three of her friends. Very convenient.

One of her friends enjoyed it so much, she is doing the same thing (and invited my daughter). They will be leaving Sat. and staying at BLT.

i initially thought BCV or BWV (great pool/night life/close to park) but I also agree with SSR because its so close to DTD. I agree with asking her what she wants. Either way, they'll all have a blast I'm sure!

Everybody has their favorite resort, my son, his cousins, and friends (ages 13 - 17)would always pick the Boardwalk area, either BCV or BWV. BLT doesn't appeal to them, to just walk around and pal around nothing beats that whole area of Epcot, DHS, BWV and BCV.

We have frequently stayed at the Contemporary and Boardwalk areas -very popular with the kids. But now our 16 year old daughter would really like to stay at SSR for its proximity to DTD, esp. if she is with friends. Finds Boardwalk a bit limited.

I agree with SSR. My nieces and nephews all loved being able to walk to McDonalds, and AMC theater. They could also souvenir shop and have ice cream at Ghiardellis. Lots of lower cost food options at DTD for teens with their own spending money.
They spent almost every evening there.

My 16 year old daughter votes for BW or BC!

Our last two visits we planned late and so we could only get OKW & SSR. Both times she brought a friend. Of course the friends were impressed with OKW & SSR but our daughter wished we were at BW or BC.

She likes BW or BC because you can walk to two of the parks! If you go off season - Epcot is open the latest. She and her friend liked to snack at the countries - (lots of cute guys with accents in Epcot.). She prefers the pools at BW & BC. They went to DTD but she likes watching the performers on the BW.

I'm sure the trip will be great no matter where you stay.

I would definitely consult your daughter as her answers may surprise you !

We have been often with a group of 4 teenagers. They have always voted on SSR handsdown. They love the Congress Park quiet pool. We usually BBQ in the pavilion in the late afternoon and then they head to DTD for the evening. Disney Quest is also fun. They will miss Virgin records on our next trip!

Our teenagers don't spend a lot of time in the parks but if they want the parks they just head out on the buses or we drop them off on our way to whatever we are doing (we always have a rental car). They also like to spend an aftenoon on the monorail exploring all the hotels.

As well, since three of them are girls, I have very good reviews of the Vero cabana boys from the two trips we took with them to Vero!
