Where does everybody get their digital images printed? I'm looking for best combination of price and quality. Sam's has the best price that I have found but I wasn't overly impressed with the quality of the photos from my regular camera that I had printed there. What have your experiences been?
thanks everybody. :teeth:

I've Always use WAL MART, the price is the best and the prints are great, they got the same machine that Wolf Camera has, 1/2 price.
Im talking about the one hour digital machine, walgreens and Eckerds had the exact same machine and the price is a bit more, if you have a couple pics is not so bad but if you're like me, ohhhh boy go for wal mart!

I use winkflash.com. All the pics I have printed have been great! I think it is 12 cents for a 4x6. :)

snapfish.com - upload and email those in your address book - let them purchase their own prints if they want - saves you from running around showing everyone plus you can update people who you aren't in everyday touch with. Very reasonably priced if you don't mind waiting a couple days for pictures to arrive 12 cents per 4X6. You also get just the pics you want and quantity instead of everything printed. If you want quick gratification then I would go to Walmart as well. You can download to them online and pick up in an hour if digital instead of going to store and waiting :rolleyes1 an hour for them to print them up.

I have always used Snapfish and have loved the quality, and the 12cent pictures...but i recently found WINKFLASH and their quality is also good, they also charge only 12 cents a pic, but shipping is a FLAT 99 cents no matter how big your order is. I love that since my shipping has been as high as 32.00 at snapfish. I scrapbook quite a bit and need a ton of pics, but I don't need high shipping KWIM? LOL

Why not print your own? I have the Epson Picture Mate and I love it. The cost per print is no more than 29 cents each. They last longer than traditionally developed photos. You buy a package that contains enough paper and ink for 100 photos. You usually get many more than 100 out of the package but if you don't get 100 Epson will buy the paper back from you at 29 cents a sheet and give you money for shipping.

Printer is very easy to use. There is a $50 rebate on the printer.

I have the original one and just bought the deluxe version with a battery so I can print out in the woods if I wanted to. :)

That was my initial instinct too, but in reality, printing your own photos is one of the most expensive approaches (and this is the Budget Board, after all! ;))

Having said that, I still print my own photos most of the time, because I'm very lazy. Also, I really enjoy putting my best photos in montage frames, and with many of the montage frames, that requires a lot of trial-and-error, and manual cutting to fit, etc. You just cannot expediently do that without printing your own.

Snapfish, very happy with their service and picture quality. I feel it's also cheaper than printing them at home.

Hey... thanks for the Winkflash tip! :cool1:

We were getting ours done at Costco for .19, but it looks like Winkflash is a much better deal and I don't have to leave the house!

I use Snapfish, too.
I had all my Dec. WDW photos done using Snapfish. They turned out great.
We even brought mailers with us so DS could mail in his one time cameras.

With the Picture Mate the cost is not much more expensive than sending them somewhere or driving to pick them up at a store. :) :) They also last a lot longer. Traditional developing will last 25-30 years while the Picture Mate photos will last 100 years.

I'm not sure I would believe their claims. We had an epson printer, the one that was recommended by Creative Memories at the time. They said that the photos were supposed to last 100 years blah, blah, blah. Not only were they a lot more expensive to develop (and more of a pain), but the pictures started to fade after a couple of years. We had 2 idential pictures, one we printed one from snapfish. Ours faded, the snapfish is still like new.

We threw away our Epson and only print at Snapfish or Costco.

Since I don't know which Epson you have I can't say anything. The new Epsons that use the pigmented inks have been verified by an independent that they will last. www.wilhelm-research.com

I am talking about the Picture Mate which is a lot lower in operating costs.

I have been using Epsons for many years with no fading problems.

They last 100 years only if you follow their recommendations which is to place the photos in a frame or an acid free photo album.

there's a newer version? with a battery? :cool1:

Was there a price drop on the original? I have a friend that has that one and she LOVES it!

No actually they will last 200 years if you put them in an album. The same can be said for traditionally developed photos. No matter how you get them developed nowadays prints done with pigmented inks will last longer.

There is a $50 rebate on the original Picture Mate. The newer version is the one with the battery. I pack mine in the suitcase when I go on vacation.

Another Snapfish fan here. I sent 144 images from WDW on a Sunday morning and they were delivered to my door on Thursday. And at 12 cents each, you can't beat that!

I love winkflash too. The quality is great and no one can beat the price!
