I want to surprise my husband with a new camera. He wants the Canon 30-D. He doesn't need any lenses as he has a bunch of Canon lenses from his regular Canon (not digital). I found it for $439 on a site called Best Price Camera. I can't find any information about best price camera, but it comes up on Google when I search for price comparisons. This price seems to good to be true. Has anyone purchased anything from them? Thanks in advance, Penny

Thanks so very, very much. :goodvibes I thought it was too good to be true. :rolleyes1 I should have known better & I think that is why I came here to check first. I will check out the other two sites you mentioned. Thanks again. :hippie: Penny

also look at B&H photo.... I have had very good luck with them

He wants the Canon 30-D.

Do you really want the 30D? Make sure you look at the new 40D. Most stores will only have the 40D in stock and any 30D will be sold at a discount.

I would suggest the 40D unless prices is a big concern.

I agree that the 40D is a better camera, but to some it might not be $400 better. Some might be better off using the difference towards a lens.

buydig/beachcamera still has the 30d body for $909 while the 40d is $1300.

I asked about the 40d & he did a comparison on a few different sites as well as Consumers. He really is leaning toward the 30D though I am not sure why. Maybe he is waiting to see the response on the 40D and for them to work the kinks out? I do believe that the 30D is lighter and most of his other cameras are pretty heavy so he was looking for a lighter camera. I really don't care what he buys as I just spent a fortune on buying 200 points at Animal Kingdom Villas, so I figured he is owed a few cameras :lmao: :lmao: as he is not a big Disney fan and goes with me at least once a year.
Thanks again for all the feedback. Penny:hippie:

also make sure you do not get a "grey market" camera if you are in the U.S.
Canon may not support warranty service.

Thanks, when I told him I had posted the question, he mentioned the grey market, but didn't know how to find out if the warranty was "grey" or regular :confused3 . We will get this sorted out by Christmas. Thanks for all your help. :hippie: Penny
