Can anyone tell me their opinion of the preferred pet loops.

1. Which one's are the Preferred Pet Loops.

We are looking for:

No Bus stop/main road noise and semi-private sites, maybe with some bushes in between.

I have looked on the disneycampers.com site and I don't think they have every loop listed, because we stayed in 800 loop last year and it was a preferred pet loop, but it was not listed as such.

We are camping with 4 families this weekend and with 15 families in October, and most of us have only been to Fort Wilderness only once.

Our favorite loop has quickly become the 800 loop. We had site 842 last Thanksgiving, it is probably our favorite site now in the long time we've been going to the Fort. Very spacious, bush coverage between the sites, no one behind you (in fact it's just a canal and the far corner of the pet walking loop). The whole area was private but still open, we were able to stretch out, not a lot of trees right on the site either. Plus lots of bunnies for the dog to play with...lol ;)

I would definitely recommend the 800 loop, we actually liked pretty much every site we saw in that loop. It's also within walking distance of the trading posts/settlement if you're so enclined. Not the closest loop mind you, but definitely a nice walk.

P.S. The pet loops are always changing it seems like, in fact, to really get any kind of accurate info on what is currently a preferred pet loop can be a chore. Normally we start spouting off which loops are what, only to have someone come in and say they just stayed in that loop last weekend and it is totally different from what we thought.

Depending on vacancy, they'll also move or change some loops to pet loops. It really does vary quite a bit. I just did a quick look and I find one site that says 800,1600,1700,1800,1900, 300, and 700 are pet loops, with the 500 being an overflow pet loop. The problem is they also say that only 300 and 700 are preferred, which isn't true, because there are more preferred pet loops now as well.

300 and 700 are nice pet loops as well, although those tend to be a bit crazier than the 800 loop was (as far as congestion, noise, etc...).

Our favorites are 700 and 300 (in that order). These are both preferred pet loops! Loop 700 is a bit more spacious than 300 with more space between the sites. It's also easier to maneuver in.:drive:

Happy Camping!

When we were there in April 07 we checked out the 900 (?) loop and it looked to be for pets also at that time. We were staying in the 800 loop at the time and noticed that the pad sizes were considerably larger and will consider this loop in the future if it is for pets. A bit closer to the settlement but not a large loop.
Carlson, I have to agree that Disney is messing with our minds on this.

Yea, we happened to do a drive by in the golf cart a couple years ago while checking out Christmas decorations, and I guess it had been a while since we had driven down the 800 loop. We also noticed that the sites just appeared to be quite a bit larger, there was more space in between, yet it still had a very private feeling about it. You're right, it isn't one of the really large loops, which also helps with the feeling of privacy.

And it's alright, this is the second time I've been called Carlson in as many weeks ;)

I have kids so I like the sites in the 1400 loop backing to the canal and near the campfire. Some of them have HUGE back yards big enough for horseshoes, darts and even a game of tough football. My kids like being able to go to the activities without crossing any streets.
You might think we are crazy (thats ok...everyone else does) but we like to drive around in our cart and document each loop and each site in each loop. We call it going "LOOPING." I have made a map of each loop with numbers and ratings. I guess I should post it one of these days. Each loop is different depending on what you are looking for. 800 is good for privacy and for when we leave the kids at home. 1400 is good for kids. When we bring our dog we like the 300. I even like the 1300 backing to the pool.

The 1400 loop is a great kid preferred loop but the human kind of kid. 1300 full hook-up loop is also a nice loop again for humans not pets. We enjoy both of them.

As of June this year...

300, 700, and 800 preferred pet loops with pet walk

500 preferred pet overflow loop in that it does not have its own pet walk

900, 1600, 1700, 1800 and 1900 full hook-up pet loops with pet walk

Been this way for last couple of years but I'll check again next week.
