I'm getting ready to potty train and i want all my ducks in a row. We're not going to do it until we return in Sept but I want everything before we go. Plus she is telling me potty and likes sitting on the big people potty.

We used a little Disney Princess one. Made it more exciting for DD. Is your DD close to 3? If she's showing interest, why not start training her now? We trained DD the summer before our Sept 2006 trip (she was 2 1/2 at the time). We used the "the princesses will be so proud if you are in big girl undies for Disney" line and it worked like a charm. She was trained in less than two weeks (she still used pullups at night for about 6 months but rarely had an accident)

No DD is going to be 2 next month just a few weeks before we leave. We leave 8/31 and will return on 9/6 so I thought I would just wait and start really letting her sit when she tells me potty when we return...:confused3

Oh if she is just turning two...I would definately wait.

My daughter is almost 14 months and my mother keeps hinting around at the idea that she will be easy to potty train.. She said me and my 2 sisters were by 2. I have 2 sons that were potty trained around 3 so to me right now seems very early to even try.. but everyone keeps telling me girls are easier.. Im going on the assumption that every child is different.. I did buy a potty for her and she does go over to sit on it.. then throws her toys in it.. she has no idea what its for.. my mother is nuts i think.:rotfl:

With all four of my kids I bought the little potty seats and the potty adapters and all 4 of them ended up training just on the big potty - I never did learn LOL My girls were barely 2 and my boys were 3+.

Good luck!

Your mom was trained when you were 2 - you probably weren't trained. I was out of diapers early, because they were cloth diapers. I do the nakey butt test to see if they're ready, at 2 1/2. If there is more than 1 accident, diapers for 3 more months. It worked great with my twins, because dd passed, ds failed, and I got to do them separately.

I personally like the one that atattches to the regular seat. You flip it up when an adult or older child uses and flip it down for the potty training one. No tipping potty chairs, no spilling and it takes up little space.

My sister paid full price for one at a specialty baby store-she really wanted one. I then found one at a garage sale and another at a thrift store. She now has two. I have one but I haven't installed it on my toilet.

My DD is 2 1/2 and she is using the potty often now but I am not going whole hog till we get back from WDW. I have visions of us just stepping on to the Dumbo ride and she says "Mommy, potty now!" So we may regret it but we are still doing pull-ups till we get back and then underwear here we come!

The best potty seat, hands down, is the Baby Bjorn one that fits right on the regular toilet. Loved that thing! I'm actually looking forward to breaking it out again when we return from Disney in October, and getting DS2 on the pot!

This is what we used for DS. He wanted to use the big potty as well. It worked for us.
