This has been asked before, but what is a good portable charger for an S5? Hopefully I will only be using my phone to double check FP+ or maybe look at Memory Maker. I would not want to spend alot. Thanks!

Before my last trip, I bought a super cheap little charger at Walmart. (I feel like it was in the $5-10 range) It's called pocket juice, it's roughly the size of a lipstick, and I can get one full charge a day out of it, and that's all I generally need. It's not high performance by any means, but gets the job done and for the price, I've been happy with it

EasyAcc Classic 10000mAh Power Bank Brilliant External Battery Pack for iPhone Samsung HTC LG Smartphones Tablets - Black and Orange https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H9BEC8E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_GySTwbV11JXVB

I use this one. Great product and price for being able to use multiple charges. I don't see the point in getting a small 2,000 mah (roughly one charge), when you can spend just a little more and get a lot more.

The key difference with chargers is the mAh size.
  • 2000mah chargers are affordable and portable. However they lack capacity to fully charge a phone. You might only be able partially charge a phone from zero.
  • 6000mah chargers can charge a phone a few times and a tablet halfway.
  • 10000 or larger chargers can charge a tablet at least once and phones a few times from zero. The large mah is convenient when you don't have time to recharge the battery before the next time you need it. Sadly, they can be heavier than your phone or tablet.
  • some like battery cases.... I don't like them because they can only charge one device.... you need a new case the moment you get a newer phone.
  • there are chargers now that can power a laptop and even boost your car. Great for those who own vehicles.
  • there are chargers that come with speakers if you want to share your tunes
yep.... I own a few chargers in my years for different needs.

I love the anker brand. I have all different sizes and even give them for presents when I dont' know what to get. my smallest I dont even notice in my pocket and will get me a few more phone hours. My largest can run my laptop and charge 2 phones for 12 hours.

They also make other things, I also have a 6 port high power usb plug in charger. I bring it instead of all the little adapters and a power strip. I can charge everything from dead overnight at WDW and it doesn't take up much room.

I have two different Anker models - one is about the size of 4-5 credit cards stacked on top of one another, the other is about the size of an average smartphone. The former charges my phone once, the latter charges it multiple times. I usually carry the smaller one unless I'm anticipating a very, very long day.

We have the Jackery which is a pretty popular one on amazon and often on sale. It'll charge both our S6s for more than 1 charge and it's small enough to fit in a bag without taking up too much space.

Yes i agree i got a Jockery also and love it. Mine is the Jockery Bar. Its been great, it can charge multiple times and charges fairly quickly. I would recommend it

I bought a 20000 mAh Jackey off amazon for about $45 it was fantastic never changed it during the seven days of our trip and wasn't even half empty. This one is supposed to fully charge an iPhone 6 times.

As others have said here you want to look for battery sizes (mah) larger ones will allow you more charges or be a better fit for your battery - IE If you have a 5000mah battery in your phone (or more likely your tablet) a 2500 mah battery will only give you half a charge on your device. Also look at charge voltage outputs - I use a Patriot Fuel+ 7500mah which has a 2.5v output along with a 1.0v output - The 2.5v will charge the device ~2 times faster than the 1v port. (Assuming your device supports faster charging - but most newer devices do).

One nice thing about the Patriot Fuel+ is that you can charge your device WHILE charging the charger - On my last trip to DW I was able to plug the battery pack in and then charge my phone at the same time using just one socket rather than taking up two.

Also, since you've got a droid you might look at getting an "extended battery" for the phone to replace the one that came with your phone - This can double/triple your usage time without having to carry around the charger. (Us iPhone folks don't have that luxury. :) )

Another vote for the Jackery. The Jackery Bar is usually on sale on Amazon-right now it's showing for $19.99 for the 6000 mAh. We were able to fully charge both our phones (one 6s and one 5s) plus 'top up' multiple times per day in the parks and never hit the low battery indicator on the charger.

I use the "triple c" power card for all travel related needs. I use my mophie (more powerful) for camera related stuff and the triple c really is more convenient. It fits in my wallet comfortably, which to me is a huge plus.

I have the 7500mah anker battery in my s5
I went from being able to go a day before needing to charge (I use it a lot for work and lots of work apps running in the background) to getting 4 to al ost 5 days out of one charge

My husband and I are both on our second generation of the Trent Charger - I personally love how long they keep a charge and how I can charge two different devices at the same time. I'm not sure if we're allowed to post links...the model I have is:
