What's everyone's favorite resort for pool time? We have 2 girls, ages 9 and 7 for our next trip, not scheduled yet, and I'm trying to decide on a location. I'm not looking for quiet pools, I'm interested in ones best suited for 2 active girls. Any ideas? We've seen some pictures of some of the locations, but sometimes its hard to base it off a picture... : )

Stormalong Bay at BCV is awesome. It is a sand bottom pool, the slide is the mast of a shipwreck, and there is a huge lazy river section. There is also a whirlpool (not a hot tub, but actually water that swirls you around in a big circle!).

I second the above. We've stayed at all of the DVC resort, except Saratoga Springs, and my kids still love Stormalong Bay the best. (can you tell by my user name it's our home resort:))

We have spent entire days in Stormalong Bay and not been bored. In addition, you have Beaches and Cream right there alongside the pool for fantastic ice cream!

If I had to vote a second place, I'd say Old Key West....their main pool by the Hospitality House is huge and the sandcastle slide is alot of fun!

Saratoga Springs also has two major pools. High Rock Springs and Paddock. The rest of the resorts only have 1.

SAB at BCV is pretty cool. It's the only sand bottom pool that I've ever seen. If pool selection is the choice, then BCV should be the answer.

The other thought is that as DVC members with your card, you can pool hop most times of the year. BCV, BLT, and AKV Kidani are excluded from pool hopping. Search pool hopping if you want more information on this.

Good Luck!

We have enjoyed SAB, but the kids actually seem to really like the pool at Kidani with its water play area (dumping buckets and water guns). I like the fact that it is smaller and much easier to keep an eye on them while relaxing yourself.

I would have to say Aulani's pool looks awesome, but I think the OP was asking about WDW property. I think that most of the resorts have great pools, but my vote would have to go with SAB. Nothing else comes close to the different options (longest water slide, lazy river, sand bottom pool, whirlpool). My next two chooses would be Saratoga or Animal Kingdom.

Wow stormaway does look great. But maybe too spread out for us. Bummer. We're doing a summer trip, so it'll be the first time we hit the water parks. We ended up choosing Saratoga, we've been before, to be close to DTD. Thanks for the suggestions. We're also taking a Oct/Nov trip at AK, so we'll see those pools then.

We love SAB, the pool at Kidani is really good and my DS loved the new Paddock Pool at SSR last year.

SAB is awesome, but its a very hard pool to watch your kids at. Its a great pool for when you have your eyes on your kids all the time because they aren't wanderers, or when they are independent enough and strong enough swimmers that you don't need to watch them close. For my kids, seven and nine was the WRONG age for that.

BWV has a nice big slide - bigger than most of the others, but no zero entry and its deep all over.

The Kidani pool area is phenomenal! SO much for kids to do besides swim and PLENTY of shade for the rest of us. I'd like to try SAB. We walked by it a few weeks ago to have a look and it does look fun. Worth staying there just to try. I missed the fun areas that Kidani had though, and the ample tables and shade.

Some photos here. Look at the Samawati photos. That first photo of the play area is actually taken from above a waterfall that runs down over the play area by the spitting snakes. :) Image 104 in the play area is a little toddler pool that swirls around. My autistic son LOVED it! Spinning spinning spinning water. That's his thing. Spinning. http://www.aklresort.com/content/dvc-animal-kingdom-villas
