So, I am trying to figure out who has the coolest and best pool. Is it Stormalong bay?

Although the pool area at AKV seems like it's going to be nice, it's going to be really hard to beat stormalong bay.

Its pretty hard to beat SAB.

I'm curious what the 2nd and 3rd runner ups on this list are after SAB? Looks like the new pool area at kindani is going to be hard to beat too! I've not been to enough to really know...

I do have a vote to cast (albeit a totally biased and unexperienced one!): My favorite pool is SSR's main pool- because my kids learned to swim it it this year! :) Will always have a special place in my heart I suspect:)

Stormalong Bay :thumbsup2

We'll be spending 8 nites there this July & then moving to AKV for 3 nites to check out Kidani Village & the new pool area there.

Next to SAB, I would have to vote for OKW main pool - my kids loved the sandcastle slide!

BTW, never been to Polynesian but the Volcano pool looks great - there is a thread on the Resort Photos for pool photos - we always first look at the pool to help decide where to stay!

I think SAB wins because they have poolside servers that bring you drinks. That's my favorite part!:goodvibes

Do other pools offer this at WDW?

My boys also learned to swim at SSR and that is something we will never forget:lovestruc
They would rank SSR first and SAB second.

The Poly lacks a hot tub so it drops a few notches for us.

Can someone tell me about the contemporary pool and/or any new pools for BLT?? (I don't think they are putting one in jsut for BLT)

My son informed me he couldn't wait to go back to the pool at AKL...three days after I moved us to BLT -eeeeek! Most important there is a slide??

Okay not to start the CLOWN debate but we LOVE the Keister Coaster at the Boardwalk - Our whole family loves it its a fun pool and slide the best IMHO;)

Actually I really think the pool at CSR is great. Good slide, pool bar excellent, and the largest hot tub at Disney resorts.

Every opinion counts, right?:rotfl:

I love SAB and second is the villa pool at VWL! I love the bubbly springs and the surrounding tall pine trees. It's one of my favorite places "to be.":goodvibes

I guess we all have our own definition of coolest pool.

Give me the quiet pool on the BWI side, the one surrounded by the garden cottages. Very quiet and peaceful there, with no foot traffic since it is enclosed in the courtyard.

BLT will have a pool called Bay Cove pool! :thumbsup2 It will a zero-depth entry over looking Bay Lake, a slide, and a shallow pool for young children and a seperate whirlpool to relax!!! :cloud9: There is also talk about a children's interactive water feature!!! :woohoo: I can't wait to find out for myself in Dec.:santa: :cool1: Hope this helps!!!:)

Oh yes we were there last month and it was lovely :)

Also love the pool at AKL :thumbsup2

Never have really seen the attraction of SAB! It seems like one long lazy river with nowhere to actually swim.

The attraction of SAB to me is the sandy bottom kids wading pool. It is huge, and it's just so relaxing if you have a toddler to be able to watch them play in the sand and the water without having to have a hand on them at all times. I like the clown pool at BWV, but until my youngest one is old enough to swim around, it's not as relaxing. There, as at most places, the toddler pool is just boring.

I have a question: Why have they never done the sandy bottom anywhere else? Is it just outrageously expensive to maintain?
