Best Poly Longhouse - Garden, Non-Concierge?

Just had a huge change of plans and will be staying at the Poly instead of OKW on our upcoming trip. Haven't stayed there since 1993 or so, so I'm wondering what the current faves are for non-concierge garden view longhouses are. Any absolutely-must-avoids? Any decent chance of an upgrade at check-in? Any help would be appreciated! TIA!!

Just got back from our stay at the Poly and we stayed in Tokelau, room 3943. Had a great view of the quiet pool and the whole landscaping. It was right in the middle between the Great Cer. House and the walkway to the EPCOT monorail at the TTC. Great location!

I would vote for the Fiji Longhouse. You can have some great views at a garden view price!! Take a look at some of the pictures on Tikiman's website of this longhouse view

Please refer to Tikiman's site....the best site on the POLY period. IMHO

The last three times we have stayed at the POLY were all in GV rooms. Each time we requested - and received - the Samoa Building, Ground Floor looking at the Volcano Pool. We love this location.

The scenery, atmosphere, 25 feet to the pool, the GF and lagoon are to your right, the GCH is close, we simply love it!

No (that's why it's the "quiet" pool ) - the volcano pool has a slide.

We also liked the location of Tokelau. Between GCH and TTC, also close to the bus stop. One side overlooks the quiet pool and you're not far from the volcano pool (yet not right there). Think this is one longhouse that has slightly bigger rooms.

We stayed in Tokelau and it was wonderful. Only downside was at that time there was construction going on at the Hawaii longhouse and we were right across from it. Watched the workers from our balcony each morning!! But, we also could see the lagoon towards GF from our room. And it is a quick walk to Neverland Club and the laundry area. The bus stop is right down the path, the quiet pool is outside your door. And it's a quick walk down the pathway to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail.

I also stayed in Tokelau last year (at the same time as Goofy4Tink), and we loved the location. It was only a few minutes walk to both pools, the GCH, and maybe 5-8 to the T&TC. Very convienent.

We were in Rarotonga and it was right next to the GCH with a view of the quiet pool. We loved this location. We were in room 1806. We were originally in one that was on the other side of the marina(not fiji) tovelu or something like that. It was too much of a walk for us to get to everything, but then again some people love to walk.
