I like the Unofficial Guide best because to me, it's "the" Disney encyclopedia. I love their touring plans, the ratings, and they give info on just about anything. Plus, it has info on US and Sea World too.

But... The Complete Guide is really nice too... lots of trivia in there!! =]

the UG (including one of their offshoots With Kids), Passporter and am just now finishing the Complete Guide. To me all three provide different perspectives and worth a look. If you're only going to buy one then it depends on what you are looking for.

UG - more information on more travel issues than any others I have seen. If it's a first trip this is probably the best guide. I even used the rental car information when determining which company to rent from on the one time we flew to WDW.

Passporter - a great trip planning and organizing guide written by people who, it seems to me, enjoy traveling to Disney. It has pockets and planners so that you can plan your trip and use the guide as your Disney organizer.

Complete Guide - I bought this more for fun facts about different aspects of the parks. For example they provide the storyline, including much of the script for Splash Mountain. I have always had trouble completely piecing together the different scenes. (And it has been a long time since I saw "Songs of the South". In DHS they note one of the buildings, Holly-Vermont Realty, bears the name of the real business in which the Disney brothers rented their first office. The guide provides a recommended touring plan based on what they like to ride. If you're looking for a touring plan then UG would be a better option since they provide touring plans for a multitude of schedules.

I have a couple and I think the Unofficial Guide is the best by far. It isn't flashy with a lot of pictures but the info in it is great.

If you only read one book, Unofficial Guide is best because of the TOURING PLANS which are amazing, amazing, amazing. I wouldn't do the parks without them.

However I also agree that the other books offer additional perspectives. When I first started coming to WDW I read all of them!

Another vote for the UG. Like the tear out pages at the back and find the book really entertaining.

Haven't bought the 2010 as I plan on doing the online subscription for this trip- just trying to find out if it has everything planning wise/info that is in the book.

My favorite is the Unofficial Guide. It has EVERYTHING.

However, I also bought a Passporter with binder and I use the binder and pockets for EVERY trip we take...not just Disney. I ordered more pockets and used them for our cruise, all 3 Disney trip, long weekend trips out of state etc.

It's nice to read different guides to get different perspectives, but for me the Unofficial Guide is tops!

I too read them all, but hands down, the best for preparation is the Unofficial Guide. The touring plans are fantastic! Last year we were there for Easter/Spring Break. The parks were packed but the plans allowed us to avoid all the long lines.

Fodor's WDW with Kids by Kim Wright Wiley gets my vote. I really liked this book from the perspective of a veteran. Many to most of MY favorite personal tips were in there, as well as quite a few things that I didn't know.

I also voted UG as per my previous post. Then I saw your post and went online - found this year's Passporter for a great price and clicked "Proceed to checkout" ...... :rotfl2: Now I am going to be checking the mail as soon as I get home every night with great impatience. ;)

I really liked the Unofficial Guide! It was really informative, and had all the little tips & such in the margins, It was definitely worth the investment!

Also, I bought "The Complete Idiots Guide to WDW" and was also very impressed! It even had some stuff that the UG didn't, it's a good one to check into!

Unofficial Guide has the most INFO that is helpful and pertinant and organized. :thumbsup2

Complete Guide and Passporters are certainly more *FUN* along with all that helpful information.... :woohoo:

I completly agree with Hootch.

I use:

UG for all the nitty gritty information.

Passporter carries all my stuff and is a place for me to record my thoughts while we are on the trip.

Complete Guide is a nice read and great pictures.

I can't wait until I can buy my 2011 copies!!!:cool1:

Passporters! I love the pockets for storing stuff! :thumbsup2

Don't need any others, I have the DIS!:woohoo:

Oh! Not really a true guidebook but a fun real is MouseJunkies!

I love the Birnbaums because they give info on everything in disney. they also have couponsbut I never use them.
