Flame Tree is excellent choice at Animal Kingdom...get a 1/2 slab of ribs, large cornbread muffin, baked beans, drink & dessert (we love the minute maid frozen lemonade...so good) or if you don't like BBQ sauce, you can get the 1/2 chicken (rotisserie style) instead of the BBQ ribs...that's just one counter service credit & a LOT of food.
Also at Magic Kingdom, Cosmic Rays has combos with chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, etc. when you're looking to get away from the same-old burger/pizza rut. More like a "real" meal, and again, very generous proportions.
At Epcot, Sunshine Seasons in the lower level of the Land building has lots of non-burger choices. In the World Showcase, our new favorite is at the Morocco counter service, the shawarma platter. Also has a meatballs & rice platter that's pretty good.
At Hollywood Studios, we like Pizza Planet because the individual pizzas come with a side-salad. For lunch, we also like the excellent (pre-made) deli-type sandwiches such as turkey club on foccacia bread which is available at Starring Rolls (and all the lovely dessert choices at that bakery!)
For your breakfasts, use one of your snack credits to buy pastry for the next day in your room (buy it as you're leaving the park!) Pack a couple of extra-large zip-lock baggies because the styrofoam and/or plastic to-go containers are not airtight...slip the to-go boxed pastry in your ziplock bag to keep it fresh for the next day. We did this nearly every day with our snack credit on the regular
DDP. On the quick service DDP you get 2 snack credits a day, so one for breakfast, and one for in the park.
At your resort, you'll find the counter service often has some platter or combo choices that are "real food" (in addition to burger/fries choices usually) Like at Pop Century, there's usually some Asian entrees, or pasta-type main dishes, etc.
