Ok, I have gone through all of the CS menus here on WDWInfo (and gathered my past experiences), and found the following CS eateries that are good uses of the CS credit. These should be useful for those who don't have reservations and have to use their TS credits at CS places. Please note, that the primary criteria for this list was to not be just another hamburger / chicken fingers joint, and not be a primarily confectionery, which from what I can see limits your choices. Also, I have only gone through the main parks, if you are at a moderate (or better) resort that you probably have an equally good place to eat at. So here goes:

Magic Kingdom:
Columbia Harbour House - Fried fish, specialty sandwiches, etc.
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe - BBQ Ribs, 1/2 Chicken, wraps etc. (My Pick!)
El Pirata - Tacos, Quesadillas etc.
Pinocchio Village Haus - Italian Subs, Cheese steak, etc.
Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle - Asian Noodles, Teriyaki, etc.

Epcot:
Mexico: Cantina de San Angel - Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas, etc.
Land Pavilion: Sunshine Seasons - Flatbread grill sandwiches, Asian etc.
England: Yorkshire Fish Co. - Fish & Chips
China: Lotus Blossom Cafe
Morocco: Tangierine Cafe - Mediterranean, Shawerma Platters, Couscous (My Pick!)
Japan: Yakitori House - Sushi, Udon, Teriyaki etc.

MGM:
Starring Rolls Bakery - Tenderloin sandwich, Turkey Facoccia, etc.
Flatbread Grill - Pulled Pork Sub, Grilled Chicken & Rice etc.
ABC Commissionary - Chicken Curry, Half Cuban Sandwich, etc. (My Pick!)

AK:
Flametree Bar-b-q - Everything BBQ (My Pick!)
Pizzafari - Italian Subs, Chicken Parm sandwich, etc.
Tusker House - 1/2 Chicken, Grilled Salmon, etc.

And don't forget everything at Downtown Disney, my pick there: Wolfgang Puck's Express!

Please discuss or add those you think I missed...

I didn't see Wolfgang Puck's Express on the dining plan list - is it available for counter and dining service for the DDP?

The BEST deal of a cs credit seems to me to be pepper market at Coronado. You can even get steak. We were going ot try to eat there but just didnt make it.

The counter service in France is incredible. You can have a sandwich (Ham/Cheese) or quiche, a drink and a sweet pastry. It is an incredible value.

My personal favorite for variety, portions, value, and taste is Sunshine Seasons at Epcot. That place is AWESOME! So many amazing and fresh food options. We would eat there with or without the DDP.

Yes, WPE takes DDP. We were just there a few weeks ago and let me say this is a great value. Food is cooked to order and is really wonderful. I must recommend the Mac N Cheese. It ain't Kraft, or the mushy type served at the parks! :goodvibes

Thank you for this list!!! I am trying to decide whether or not to do the DDP and I am glad to see some good CS choices!!!

Thanks for this list!

I find that Backlot express is the ONLY decent CS at MGM. We had a very good grilled turkey sandwich there in August. ABC commissary I thought was awful and Flatbread is an outdoor place with a poor menu choice IMO. Also Sunshine seasons provides a delicious assortment of pastries for dessert adults and children alike! :thumbsup2

I miss Tusker House at AK..:sad1:

Tusker House is in the process of being converted to a table service restaurant and shouldn't be in the CS listing.

If you are looking at the official Disney-issued list for the 2008 dining plan, you probably aren't seeing Wolfgang Puck Express or Earl of Sandwich listed - they are not owned by Disney and those places have not been added to the official list yet.

FoodQuest at DQ would have cost us the most on our last trip. The kids were able to get "adult" desserts and we were also able to get bottled powerades for all 4 of us which we saved in the backpack for the rest of the day! The food was good with sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and funky salads.:thumbsup2

I think this place is pretty good. Please note, though, that it requires admission to DQ.

You left off our personal favorite - Main Street Bakery. The turkey, cranberry & brie sandwich there is one of the best I've ever had, and the apple turnover is the stuff of dreams!

I just got back from CSR and I would say if you can make it definately try out Pepper Market for counter service. I had prime rib, sirloin steak, a huge chicken caeser salad, combination chinese plate, and a huge portion of nachos with meat and the whole works. They also have hugest cinnamon rolls I have ever seen that count as the dessert.
I forgot I also had a huge plate of pasta with chicken and your choice of three different sauces. These are all served on actual dishes if your eating right there. We loved it.

I didn't think there was counter service on the dining plan in France..I need a brain vacation, I am getting confused...

The counter service in France is called Boulangerie Patisserie. To get there go to Chefs De France and go to the right (like you are going to Bistro Paris), walk straight ahead and it is on the left. As a reference point it is across from the perfume shop.

pecos bill's in MK also has the pulled pork sub (just like the one at flatbread grill in MGM), which is pretty good.

Does anyone know if you are able to get a CS lunch with Turkey leg? I thought I saw a food pic that someone got the leg with a drink and dessert.

Boulangerie Patisserie is on the plan as CS but doesn't accept snack credits, IIRC, even though they have many items under the unofficial $4 threshhold.

I believe that the meal at Toluca Turkey is the leg, a bag of chips and a drink, but there might be a dessert too (or instead of the chips). The specifics are fuzzy now, but I know we shared a CS meal there on our '05 trip.
