My wife and I are planning to maybe go to some places in DTD or Orlando and avoid some of the prices in the park. What are some places that you suggest and why (fyi, we love cool and neat atmosphere).

My husband and I love Raglan Rd. in DTD. Not exactly inexpensive, but worth the experience! Ive heard Tutu Tango on I-drive is a great place for tapas, and is very fun and interesting! That place does not cost as much per se, but it is tapas- you build a meal, so the price can easily climb. We also usually make a stop at Rainforest Cafe. That place wont break the bank, but a burger is around $10. Other similar places are Planet Hollywood (I didn't like it much), Hard Rock Cafe in City Walk (awesome!) or House of Blues (want to go!)There are other counter service spots in DTD that can be less expensive- but we have never eaten at those,, so I cant really recommend any.

I had the greatest experience at Wolf Gang Puck's Express right beside the Christmas Shop. I had a health issue one night and after talking to the Chef/Manager about the issue, my daughter and I returned to give it a second try. The food is fantastic and is a quick service on the dining plan. We made it a point to return for a third time and fourth time before we left for home. The food is awesome, try the rosemary chicken or the bacon wrapped meatloaf. I also loved the pizza and chicken penne pasta. This is definately one of the best quick service resturants I found. It was also very pleasent eating on the patio and there is wait staff to assist you with your meal.

Another vote for Wolfgang Puck's Express. So yummy! If you on the dining plan its the best (imho) place to spend a counter service credit!

I make it a point to eat at Wolfgang Puck's express while in DTD. Always high quality and an excellent value. Save room for dessert at Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop, and then you can waddle back to your room.

We ate dinner our first night at Paradiso 37 in Pleasure Island - We had a table out on the back deck overlooking the water and had a beautiful sunset view as well as a view of the hot air balloon! It was really relaxing! They have a wide variety of menu choices, Mexican and American and great drinks! You could also try Earl of Sandwich - it can be a little hectic, but the sandwiches are really good!

We loved Wolfgang Puck's Express too... Great portions, good pricing and great food... We loved it and can't wait to go again...

Our fave place at DTD is the Earl of Sandwich, hands down!!! It's delicious. It's not much for atmosphere, but delicious. If you are looking for somewhere fun, Bahama Breeze is delicious. There are 2 - near DTD, the other is on International Drive. If you are looking for more of a finer dining spot, my absolute favorite place in Orlando is the Tommy Bahama Cafe at Pointe Orlando for lunch (we've never done dinner there, but I am sure it's amazing!).

Wolfgang Puck Express is one of my favorite places to eat among all of Disney.

Season's 52 is an amazing restaurant, right on Sand Lake Drive. It is a Darden restaurant (Olive Garden, Red Lobster) etc. But it is a new concept restaraunt and the best thing is that the menu changes every week based on what is in "season" hence the name. I think every meal is under 500 calories...but you woul never know it! There are only a few in the country and if you are looking for something really yummy this is a great place to eat! (Even my really picky mom liked it!!) www.seasons52.com

Earle of Sandwich is a must for our trips!

We just got back and tried Sweet Tomatoes (soup/salad/bakery place) as well as Giordano's Chicago Style Pizza for the first time and loved both!

Oh, we also went to T-Rex and thought it was fabulous! The atmosphere was amazing(we were in the ice cave room!) and the food was great (ten times better than Rainforest Cafe!)!

We've only tried a few off WDW property. Sweet Tomatoes @ Crossroads. There's also a Fuddrucker's there we want to try sometime. All kinds of places out on 192. A good CiCi's there too. Ate at those doing a budget trip :rotfl: So didn't try any 'fancier' places, lol.

For a quick off-site meal, we like both Buffalo Wild Wings and Fuddruckers which are in Crossroads Plaza near DTD.

Other places we like... Pei Wei (mmmm yummy!), Red Brick Oven.

I'm also known to drag my husband to Ruth's Chris Steak House for an adult night consisting of good food and great wine.

I also agree with others that mentioned Earl of Sandwich but it's impossible during FD and at peak times of the day. We enjoy Raglan Road but it's hard to talk in there so if you are looking for a nice quiet evening I wouldn't recommend. Now if you want to enjoy a band, Raglan Road is awesome for on-site entertainment and has good food too.
