We are heading to WDW in October. This will be the first Disney trip for my two girls, ages 7 and 10 and it's been years since my wife and I have been there so I would like to get some suggestions on the best places to dine at Epcot and Magic Kingdom. Nothing real formal but we do like to try new things. We have the dining plus package. Thanks for your thoughts!

HI

We were there last October with our 7, 5 and 4 year olds. We too were on the dining plan. Our favourite places were:

Coral Reef Restaurant : EPCOT
Crystal Palace : Magic Kingdom
Park 1900 Fayre : Grand Floridian (we jumped on the monorail)
Chef Mickeys : Contemporary Resort (monorail again)

The latter 3 were all character meals which were fantastic. We like the help your self buffet style rather than plated meals as that way everyone can have exactly what they like and our youngest is quite fussy. Will definitely eat at all of them again when we go next April. (also did breakfast at Crystal P and Chef Mickeys).

Coral Reef was superb

Don't forget to do the Fantasmic package at MGM (will save you standing in line to get a seat). We always go to Mama Melrose....

Go along to MNSSHP - you will have a fantastic time.

We also escaped the theme parks and had a truly wonderful meal at Raglan Road at DD. (went twice in fact).

I would make advance reservations to ensure you get your most ideal eating times.

Am counting down until we can make our ADR's.

I would do at least one character meal. Askershus in EPCOT might be fun if your kids like the princessesprincess: Our favorites are dinner at 'Ohana and LTT and lunch at Sci-Fi.

I would try to do at least one character meal especially if your kids want autographs. It's a fun and easy way to get them and no waiting in long lines:woohoo:

At Magic Kingdom, we LOVE Liberty Tree Tavern. Food served family style, all you can eat. At Epcot, we love Le Cellier (can't believe it's only one TS on DDP), and the restaurant in Mexico (not the Cantina buy the TS one).

1900 Park Fair was our favorite meal of our last trip. Excellent buffet and great character interaction, and the pictures of DD with Cinderella and Prince Charming are priceless. It isn't in the Magic Kingdom, but it is just a short monorail hop away.
