Best places for teens/tween?

I've searched the boards and am only coming up with old threads about this question. Which restaurants either in parks or the resorts are big hits with teens and a tween? All are boys, by the way. We're only interested in lunch/dinner options as breakfast will be off-site.

And, is there a list somewhere of which places are buffets?

Deb's Allearnet.com has all the menus.

Whispering Canyon has a dinner served family style with a lot of meat offerings. If the boys are carnivores, this is a good possibility. Boma is a buffet and has a pretty wide selection. There are many buffets in the parks. But those two tend to be the big hits for my teenage sons.

I asked my son (14) which restaurants he loved the most and here's what he came up with..

Coral Reef: First because of being able to see all the fish but also because he's a big fan of the food here.

'Ohana: All he can eat meat, need I say more? :lmao: He also loves the setting and enjoys the overall meal.

Biergarten: My son loves the food and the atmosphere here. He enjoys listening to the band play as well. This is a buffet, btw.

Boma: My son is a rather adventurous eater. He will try pretty much anything once. I don't think I've seen my son eat as much as he did here. Another buffet.

Whispering Canyon: We did this for my son's birthday a few years back and he still talks about it. He loves the food and the restaurant is a lot of fun. We are doing WCC as our arrival meal here in a few weeks at our son's insistence. Milkshakes and smoothies are free refills here, too! :)

As far as character meals, my son loves them all. He hasn't grown up when it comes to them. He still enjoys getting autographs and having his picture taken with each and every character he can. He's looking forward to being able to introduce his little sister to all the characters. :lovestruc I believe we have five character meals lined up for our trip, so both of them should have a good time. :goodvibes

Beaches' n Cream, sci-fi and 50's prime-time are usually a hit with teenage guys - at least with mine!

I have a 16 year old son and 14 yr old daughter. In planning our next trip I was totally surprised that they requested character meals! Their favorite character meals were Chef Mickey's and 'Ohana breakfast with Lilo and Stitch, so we are going to both again.

Also, they really liked Marakkesh (in Monocco-I think the belly dancer won that one for my son!)and Le Cellier in Canada (this is their absolute favorite) in Epcot.

They also enjoyed 50's Primetime Cafe and Sci-Fi Drive-in at Hollywood Studios.

Mine are a bit older now but their favorites when they were teens were:

Sci Fi (lunch only; they didn't like it for dinner)
Biergarten (buffet)
Boma (buffet)

Depending on their personalities, WCC and 50's PTC might work. One of my sons liked these two but the other two sons hated both.

They all liked the atmosphere at Coral Reef but the portions were too small for them.

I have 13 and 15 year old boys. Their favorite places are Biergarten, 50's Prime Time Cafe (love the fried chicken and milk shakes), Raglan Road at Downtown Disney (music is great, too, so go late enough to enjoy that), Whispering Canyon, and Mama Melrose. We also all enjoy Chef Mickeys because it's just fun and it's a buffet. Our kids pretty much like any buffet! They did not think they would like Teppan Edo but we went there and they loved that, too.

When I was a teenager, my favorites were Sci Fi and Chef Mickey's.

Mine likes the Sci Fi, Boma (good boy ;) ) and in general, buffets.

My 16 year old DS will tell you he likes every restaurant at WDW. Sit him down with a menu and he will be happy. I know some of his favorites are 50s Prime Time, Boma (buffet), Rose & Crown, and Beaches and Cream. He actually is kind of a foodie, so also loves Jiko, California Grill, Flying Fish and Narcoossees. For counter service, he likes Wolfgang Puck Express, Columbia Harbor House, and eating his way around the World Showcase (especially if it is during the F&W Festival).

My boys are 14 & 13 their favorite meal is Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House. They also like Sci-Fi for lunch. They also really love Boma's for breakfast.

Jenn - Thanks to your suggestion we are trying Donald's breakfast for the first time when we go. We usually aren't breakfast people, but I'm liking the fact that it is definitely a lot cheaper than dinner!

To the OP: My kids also like ESPN Zone and Crystal Palace. Actually they like any buffet where they can make an ice cream sundae!

We're going to try Whispering Canyon and Sci Fi. Not sure exactly where I'll take them in Epcot yet. I'm sure it will be fine. One thing we try to do is give each kid a day to be in charge of our activities and dining venues. They get a budget (on paper at least) and plan our day. Your input will provide us some direction.

Just back from Disney. Our teen/tween favorite places were Sci Fi and the Marrakesh in Morocco. We didn't get to Whispering Canyon - time flew by on us!
