Hello, hello my fellow DISers!

We are doing the free dining August 17-26th. DH and I really love fresh salads in the summer. Whats your best QS and TS for salads? Any kind of salad taco, chef, cobb, etc. Thanks! :thumbsup2

These were more of appetiser salads but they were to die for! Whispering Canyon does an amazing salad before your meal with a delicious apple vinigerette, Ohana also does an equally as amazing salad. I had the Castle Salad at Cinderella's Royal Table recently, I think it was some sort of raspberry vinigerette, that was delicious too.

I didn't have any, but two of our friends did and the salads looked wonderful, from the sunshines seasons food fair in the land.

Some of my favorite WDW salads are at Wolfgang Puck Express at Downtown Disney, Build-your-own Salad at POR food court, and the Cobb salad at Brown Derby. I think there is a taco salad at the counter service restaurant in the Mexico area of Epcot, but I have not tried it. Columbia Harbour House at MK has a great salad too. Good luck! I'm sure you'll find something! Most counter service restaurants have at least one on the menu.

I had an awesome watermelon salad at Cali Grill...not sure it is worth the trip just for that but it was great!!!

The chicken cobb salad at Blizzard Beach was very good for counter service, I was very surprised. Plus they have yummy Ken's dressings.

The Beach Club Marketplace has a really good salad I think they call Maytag--you tell them what ingredients you like and they whip it up. I also like the salad with strawberries at the Plaza in MK.

Nothing spectacular, but I thought the Chicken Caesar at Pizzafari was good. My DD got a barbecue chicken salad at Flame Tree and it wasn't the greatest. I LOVE the Cobb Salad at Brown Derby too.

A lot of the buffets have a nice salad bar. We thought the salad bar was the best part of the Chef Mickey's dinner, but there were lots of marinated/dressed items.

The Cobb Salad at Blizzard Beach is surprisingly good, and the Toluca Salad at the Toluca Turkey Leg stand at DHS is phenomenal (although does not seem really healthy - lol)

In addition to the salads already posted,
Pop Century has a really great Greek salad

and if you are at the Magic Kingdom, Columbia Harbor House has a BLT salad, but don't let the name fool you, it is: mixed greens with crispy chicken, bacon (light amount), egg, tomatoes and red onions with your choice of dressings. It was really good!

I make up a lot of my own salads too by ordering something like bbq chicken, or a cheeseburger and then a separate garden salad and mix the two together and share it. You can have endless possibilities that way!

I love Sunshine Seasons in Epcot but the only salad I was disappointed in was a beet and goat cheese salad, it looked so good and was not flavorful.

Have fun!

Someone in my party got a really great taco salad at Pecos Bill's Cafe in the MK last year -- I am looking forward to trying it on my upcoming trip!

:)We love wolf gang pucks for a great cs salad that feels like your at a sit down....great use of dining plan cs credits too:) we usually do this twice per trip we like it so much!

Last week three out of four in our party ordered the Colony Salad at Liberty Tree Taverns and were raving about it.

Most recently, I enjoyed these salads over Spring Break...

At LeCellier the Grilled Steak Salad - with watercress, onoins, fennel, roasted tomatoes and goat cheese with a white balsamic vinaigrette

At Liberty Tree Tavern the Colony Salad - Washington apples, sweet pecans and applewood smoked cheddar and grilled chicken tossed with field greens in honey shallot vinaigrette

At Sci-Fi the Beef and Blue Salad - Sliced butcher-tender steak with a Wedge of Iceberg Lettuce with Blue Cheese Dressing, Tomatoes and Bacon

In the past, I have also enjoyed...

At Chefs de France the Salade de chevre chaud - Baked goat cheese with walnuts, fresh grapes, tomatoes, endives and arugula salad

At The Plaza Restaurant the Chicken Strawberry Salad - fresh garden greens, grilled chicken breast, fresh strawberries, gorgonzola cheese, tossed in a white zinfandel vinaigrette dressing

At The Brown Derby the Famous Brown Derby Cobb Salad with finely chopped greens, turkey breast, egg, bacon, tomatoes, crumbled bleu cheese, avocado, chives and Cobb dressing

While this was not a bad salad, I would not order again. Everything is diced so fine, it was too mushy for me. I prefer a crisp salad.

At The California Grill the Fall Greens with Pear - pear, candied pistachios, pumpkin seeds, Pt. Reyes blue cheese, and cranberry vinaigrette

At Kona Cafe the Kona Salad - mixed greens, maytag blue cheese, fresh fruit, red onions, smoked almonds with a citrus vinaigrette

At Artist Point the Mixed Greens Salad - with roasted pear and champagne vinaigrette, Black Diamond cheddar and candied hazelnuts

At Counter Service restaurants, the ceasar is usually a good choice and DH always enjoys the taco salad.

Raglan Road to me, has the best salad the "seared beef salad"
We're making a special trip the night we arrive just for that darn salad lol.

Yay, FD, about to book first FD and first ever DDP :) Enjoy your trip!

On to your question, by far the best salad I ever had at WDW was at the POR in the food court. They have a make-your-own salad. You start with romaine or mixed greens, add chicken or steak (they give you plenty of both), then all the mixings your heart desires (my favs - cranberries, walnuts, feta cheese) but they have everything onions, peppers, broccoli, just about everything and if you want lots of it just tell the CM making the salad...they do it right in front of you then toss it with your favorite dressing and voila :wizard:

...and it's reasonably priced, only $8.19 with the meat

Happy eating popcorn::
