For those of you who have recently gone with a group of over say, eight people, where were your favorite places to eat? Which worked well in accomdating you and which not so much? We already have a few favorites in mind that we've done before, so I'm mostly looking Epcot and DTD suggestions, though all are welcomed. :goodvibes

Thanks!

Well we have sepicial places in differnt parks . We are usually 14. So if it's Epcot then I say go to Japan. Good food an a fun experience. CR = Chef Mickey's. HS Prime Time or Mama Melrose. MK = The Castle or Tony's. DTD Rainforest or PH. Hope that helps. Have Fun. :)

We've never done Epcot or DTD with a group, but we have done Chef Mickey's with a group of 13 and another time (Chef Mickey's) with a group of 8 and we were all seated together both times as Disney was very accommodating :goodvibes. We have also eaten at Boma and Kona Cafe with the group of 8 and had no problems at all :).

Thanks for the quick replies, big help, but I probably should put in that DH and his brother really don't like character meals. :confused3 That unfortunately puts out a couple. :sad2:

I'm also looking for the places with the best food for being group-friendly. If you could add that it would also be really helpful.

I appologize for being so picky! :rotfl:

I've never traveled with a big group, but will be next month, we'll be a group of 14. We have WCC for dinner, and Ohana for breakfast booked. I booked us at WCC b/c when we went in 05 we saw a huge group there and they looked like they were having a great time, & Ohana b/c I wanted to see Stitch lol and thought the kiddos would like the character breakfast.

we also have tables for 10 (some will be doing other things) for PSB, CP, Le Cellier, & Chef Mickey's

I should add, this is gonna be the 1st trip for a few in our group, so I did book a lot of character meals for them

In December, we had 13 people. We ate at Norway's Princess Breakfast, Le Cellier, O'hana breakfast, LTT. Also did the Safari Grand Gathering Dinner and the Tony's Grand Gathering Breakfast.

This year we'll have 11. So far we have Marrakesh, Brown Derby, Tony's Grand Gathering Breakfast, O'hana, Boma, and Tutto Italia. The only place that we couldn't get an ADR for was Flying Fish.

Let's see in June we ate at

50's Prime Time: 11 of us
CRT: 9 of us
Boatwrights (at resort) 10 of us
Biergarten: 15 of us
LeCellier: 11 of us
HDDR: 11 of us

Sat together at every meal except CRT and the two tables were right next to each other, close enough to still talk to each other. Oh and 2 tables next to each other at Biergarten also.

We have a small family, but did see some large groups. I would say most restaurants with large tables could seat a large group easily. Also, it is not too difficult putting tables together-providing it is not in violation of any safety code. Probably your best chances would be CP, 1900 Park Fare, Boma, WCC, CM, 'Ohana, FCH, HDDR, Cape May Cafe, and possibly LTT. I hope this helps. I have not tried the Polynesian Luau and I would think that restaurant could easily seat a large group :grouphug: .

Since you only asked for EPCOT and DTD, here are my suggestions.

We have done a group of 9-11 at:

LeCellier -- one table several times--everyone seems to enjoy themselves.

Other than that I would suggest going out international gateway for dinner at:

Cape May -- they can accommodate larger groups, plus buffet and no characters (which is a plus for us)--Dinner only

Captain's Grill (YC) -- they can accommodate larger groups and have a new menu which is much better than their old one. A good choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I'd have to think the Biergarten would be great for a group - all the tables are setup for large groups already anyway and it is a buffet. Great food and entertainment. :)
