best place to stay off site for 1 night

We may be arriving one day before checking in at the poly next week. Any recommendations for a hotel for one night? We would want it to be close to WDW with a decent pool and maybe some sort of breakfast. Also if possible a place you probably would not need a reservation(we would need it for next tuesday 8-21). And of course as inexpensive as possible. Thanks for any help

if you are flying - then would suggest an airport hotel with a shuttle. then you can still take DME the next morning.

you might consider a value resort on WDW resort.

if you are driving then I might go with priceline and see what I can get.

we are driving that is why Im not 100% sure we will be there tuesday. We are leaving Maine sunday and are going to drive each day as much as our 3 kids 6 5 and 2 can stand. I thought of priceline but I would have to commit to paying for a room I may not need. I realize this is kinda seat of my pants but then again I dont need something too nice. Thanks

so if you get one of those magazine at the rest stop - you will know about where you are talking about.

those can save you money - sometimes 70% but more likely 30%.

priceline now takes last minute reservations - they use to stop a week before - but I think I got a notice that if you know 24 hours before you can still use priceline

so if you have a laptop!

Well, you might consider staying in a suite or condo... just so you can have a little space away from the kids the day before WDW. You can get some good sleep and feel refreshed before you hit the parks.

Also, if you get a suite, you can go do a little snack/grocery shopping and have a fridge to use to chill water/juice/ etc.

It will be more pricey than a hotel stay. You can book a 2 bedroom suite at Floridays for $158 per night on Alpharooms.com. I would imagine that you can PL a room at Sheraton Safari in the %40 - $60 range.
