My brother and his family will be staying at Saratoga Springs in June staying on my points. He has 5 children ages 4,6 14,17,18. Is there a particular location I should request. Barb

It depends on what they are looking for. If it's the main pool and restaurant then they should be in Springs. If they want to be close to DTD and within walking distance to a main bus terminal which can take them anywhere within Disney then Congress Park is definitely the place to be

With the age spread of the kids that is a tough one. For the little ones, they will want to be in the Springs so as to be near the main pool. For the older ones, they may want to be in Congress Park for closer access to DTD. Find out if they will be spending more time at the main pool or more (if any) time at DTD. Still, I woulg go with the Springs as it will be easier for the older kids to do extra walking than the little ones.

In addition to the Springs, The Grandstand section should be open when you go. That offer good access to both the Grandstand pool and the main pool.

Also remember that there is a boat that leaves from behind the main lobby building that will take the teens to DTD also.

Have a Good Trip! :)

We enjoyed our stay in the Springs section. We had a nice waterview room (tho. not Downtown Disney) that was quick walk to the main pool area and the Community Room, Arcade, eating areas, etc. We spent most of our stay just hanging out at the resort so it worked really well for us!

I will be a contrarian and say Congress Park -- unless your plan is to spend a lot of time at the main pool everyday. Keep in mind, you are only a 5-7 minute walk to the Springs.

For us, staying at Congress Park, gives many more dining and shopping options. The dining experience at SSR is less than adequate (IMO), and having a 10-12 minute walk to DTD is great (especially, if you don't have a car). In fact, we even walked to Cross Roads a couple of times during our last stay.

I'm all for Congress Park too!!! We stayed there last May and had an absolutely beautiful view of DTD. There was no forgetting that we were in the middle of the Happiest Place on Earth.:cheer2: We were happy to have our own quiet pool, and it seemed we were the only ones in it!!! It was a quick walk with our little guys for food and the main pool, they never once complained!!!! And we went to DTD multipe times, I'ld have to say I wouldn't want to stay anywhere but Congress Park!!

grandstand would give good pool for the younger ones and is not that far from main pool. There is the boat or a walking path to DTD Westside where DisnyQuest and several other things the older ones might like are located.

CP is good for closness to DTD marketplace and is really not that far from the main area although there are those who would disagree

Springs is close to main pool and restaurants as well as boat to DTD behind the Turf Club.

All in all each area has its own points and I bet they have a great trip no matter what section they end up in.

I think every section has its own unique attributes with the exception of the Carousel section. There are no ammenities here whatsoever. I think you'll love any of the previous aforemnetioned sections - CP, Springs, Grandstand, and Paddock.

Toughie. Grandstand and Springs both give you access to good themed pool and community areas. (There's a slide at the Springs pool and water play secton at Grandstand's pool.) Both are very close to one another and within 5 minutes of the main resort activities. The ferry to DTD is on the lakeside of the sections. If you walk to DTD from there, it's .5 miles to DQ.

Congress Park has it's own pool and shortest walking access to DTD Marketplace (Disney Store, McDonald's, etc.). Also you can hop a bus to anywhere on property from the DTD lot. It'll probably please your teens and adults most, but the kiddies can still get to the main waterslide pool in about 6 minutes.

The only area I would not request is the Carousel. As said, there is no pool there so his group would be walking .3-.5 miles just for the pool.

I think the best room to take at any resort is any room that is ready, esp. when I check in a 8 am. After 4 trips to ssr, I only have been placed in Congress Park. I like it there, and the walk to DTD is nice.
