My wife and I are going back to Disney World in November. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge in May 2006, but felt that it cost too much for what you get, so we have decided to try the Caribbean Beach Resort. We've never actually seen the resort though.

We want to be near the food court and a bus stop, so what building is the best building to be in? Also how do you make sure you get the building you want? Do you request it over the phone or what?

Thanks so much for the help!

I stayed in room 3101 right next to the beach and the pool, close to the food court. I think that is the best room

You might want to check out the CBR FAQ thread listed below. The closest buildings are preferred costing extra nightly. In the first post I have the preferred building numbers. Many like requesting Jamaica. It is a short walk across the bridge to the food court and main pool.

You should call reservations and have your requests noted in your reservation.

Barbados and Aruba are not too far of a walk from the food area. I hear some ppl like Martnique.

CBR is a favourite resort of ours. Our 2 first stays were at Martinique and Trinidad North to be near Port Royale (food court) and the pool as suggested by guide books.

On another trip we booked ASM because there was only 2 of us. Then my sister decided to come, we checked in ASM but we really wanted to be at CBR. We called from ASM to switch over and they only had a room at Jamaica available so we grabbed it. We loved it! Wonderful short stroll over the bridge to the pool and Port Royale plus Jamaica is the first stop on the buses going to the parks and we're the first stop to get off when we're on our back to the hotel. We only request Jamaica now.

Wherever you decide to stay in CBR, I'm sure you'll be fine. It's a great resort, loads of personality and good size rooms for a moderate.

Enjoy your vacation :)

Thanks for all the info. The wife and I will have to look at the FAQ thread tonight

CBR is mine and my husband's favorite resort! The price, amentities, location and themeing just can't be beat! We personally wouldn't pay extra for the preferred locations. Aruba and Jamaica (not preferred location) are excellent area's to stay. Just a quick dance to the calypso music over the bridge and island to OPR! My husband injured his leg in Iraq and at times his leg will flare up causing problems walking distances. He never had a problem at CBR! If you're looking for a vacation within your vacation than you have picked the best resort!

CBR is great and you will love it! We've stayed at WL also, and we really prefer CBR over it! WL is beautiful, but CBR is our favorite.

None of the rooms at CBR are far from a bus stop -- there's a bus stop at every village, and at Old Port Royale where the food court and main pool are. There's also a quiet pool in every village.

If you check the links in Safetymom's signature for her photos, she has a great map of the resort with her photos also. The preferred locations are very close to the food court area, but I agree with her that Jamaica and Aruba are good locations also.

Have a great trip!

CBR is great. We were in Aruba which is just a short jump across the bridge to the food court. Jamaica would be a good choice also. If I could get the same room next time I definitely would.:thumbsup2
Aruba 5219 ( I think )

CBR is a fantastic resort. Depending on what you like, I recommend Jamaica, Bld. 45 We were there in July and it was AWESOME. The walk over Caribbean Cay to OPR is really great and quite short. Jamaica is quiet and really beautiful. We had room 4541 and it was joy!!!!

we'll be grand gathering at CBR the same time as you!! :)

a sincere thank you to you and your husband for his time serving in iraq... it's truly appreciated by so many and i'm glad he's able to enjoy WDW! :)

:wizard: We stayed in Martinique 25 last year. We had to pay extra for a preferred location, but we really thought it was worth it to be close to everything.

We love CBR. We have stayed in Jamaica and Barbados, and both are great. Barbados is a little further walk, but not much. This is my favorite moderate resort, and we will probably stay there next time.

We've stayed at CBR three times and imo Martinique Bldng. 25 is the best at the resort. It's close to the food court, pool and bar, and there's also a bus stop very close to the building. It's very quiet, even though it's close to everything. I've requested this building for our December visit, and am keeping my fingers crossed that we get it again this time.
:yay: :dance3:  CBR here we come! December 5-8, 2007

WooHoo! We now have a total of 17 joining our Grand Gathering... 8 months old up to 93 years old! :) The largest party we've ever had attend at one time was 49 people. LOL You would have thought our family took over Disney. LOL

Thank you for the nice thank you below! It's so nice to have my husband home for good! Well, unless he gets recalled of course.

Have you checked out the Dismeet Thread in the Countdown and Live Report section? I'm going to try to make a couple of the meets.

C ya at CBR!!! :)
