Hi everyone - this is my first posting so if this subject has been discussed recently I apologise!

Where is the best place to sit in Virgin Economy? We've flown twice with Virgin, the first time we were in row 22 which was good because the wing was behind us. The second time we were in row 44 which was not so good because it only just cleared the wing and we didn't have such a good view. We want to go again next year and my son who is 6' wants a seat where he can stretch his legs more (doesn't everybody?). I visited this sight about a year ago and someone was saying the back row is the best. What do others think?

I always try and sit on the back row, but they are hard seats to get. Im not really sure why, there was a myth about it been the safest seat in case of a crash but I dont see that somehow. The bad thing about sitting here is that people stand around there and chat so if you like a nap maybe its not for you.

hi sandie
hope this lnk will help you

http://www.uk-air.net/seatplan.htm#V

if you are flying virgin gatwick they are using the 747-400
if you are flying virgin manchester they are using 747-200

you can phone and pre book seats 180 days in advance
the Phone number is:01293 747205
you should also book childrens meals and special request meals ie veggie or diabetic etc
at the same time
you have to do the same at the 180 day mark for your your return flights

this is a free service and seats are not gaurenteed but it may help

hi,

we recently flew with virgin and had seats 65 a+c these were 2 seats right at the very back, great as you didn't have to worry about people behind if you wanted to recline the seat, also the meal service starts from the back so full choice of everything,

near the loos and there is a space behind if you want to stand up

the disadvantage is the flight is supposed to be bumpier in the back!!

Thanks for the link Jayne - I have printed off the seat plan and will know what I am aiming for when I try and book our seats nearer the time. Seems like the back seats are popular. Bovril: did you find it bumpier at the back?

Sandie,

the angle at take off and landing seems a bit steeper

the flight was bumpy for everyone ,seat belt sign on most of the time

don't think we suffered anymore for being at the back, also as DD pointed out we where right next to the emergency exit, so any problems it was Bovril out first LOL

the one thing to remember is that you can't pre book seats on the emergency exits
these are the seats that tend to have the extra leg room..
these seats are only allocated on the day of the flight
and thay will not give them to you you if you have young chirdren..
this is a saftey issue and they want people sat in these seats that can clear the exits ASAP if the need should arrive
hope this helps

hi
on landing how many exits do they open on the plane. if your sitting at the back you'd be the last one off!!!

sam

There's just the one exit off the plane, so if you're sitting at the back you will be one of the last off. I don't think that this is a problem though, as if you're first off you just have to wait longer for the luggage to arrive. We usually stay in our seats until we can get off without being squashed and battered and then just stroll through. We may not be first out of the airport, but we get out in one piece and without stress.
