hi all

so was thinking of reserving the tomorrowland balcony for fireworks but disney dining says you can't see the fireworks at all!

so is there anywhere without sitting on the ground that's a good place to watch the fireworks like a dining reservation or something similar? want to make it surprise for my daughter's bd

thanks for any suggestions

cindy

Well, personally, I think the best place to watch is in front of the castle/down Main Street. I know that they do have reserved seating, but I believe it's usually for tours, so, there's one option. If you're looking for a dining plan, I'd say book one for Fantasmic. That way you can watch that, followed almost immediately by the fireworks. Of course, there's no benches there. If you want a seat, the It's A Small World might be your best bet. There are lots of planters and things to sit on over there. There's no reservation there, though so it's one where you would have to get there and wait, but it shouldn't be a huge wait. Maybe like 20 minutes over there.

Depending on how much of the show you want to see, one of the most fun ways to view the fireworks while seated is to watch the show while riding BTMRR. Try to time a ride for right when the fireworks start (usually around 9:25-9:30 pm). Then get ready to have a magical time! When you exit the ride, walk just to the right of the exit to the area with the cactus landscaping and view the rest of the show with Big Thunder in the foreground. Gorgeous!

I was just going to type this!!!

We’ve been on BTMRR a couple of times during fireworks. Most recently during a “date night” when my sis stayed in the hotel with the kids. It was magical as always! We couldn’t have planned it any better.

DLR doesn't offer any dining packages or dessert parties for fireworks viewing. Pretty much the only way to view fireworks, while seated, but not sitting on the ground is to get lucky and get one of the benches from which there is a view. There aren't that many of them and my guess is they fill up pretty early on (>1 hour).

(That being said, I have read that you can see some of the show from the premium seating package for F! at the RBT. You won't be able to see everything - the castle projects, effects from the castle, or the characters flying behind the castle - but you can see the fireworks themselves, the projections on the mist screens, and hear the music. It's the reason guests get the RBT package, but it's an added bonus. The caveat is that this package is only offered on nights when F! is presented and there is only one seating per night.)

I thought the whole point of the Tomorrowland Terrace was to view the fireworks. Confused!

What about a Carnation Cafe dining reservation about an hour before fireworks time, then walk right out onto Main Street to view the fireworks and make a break for the exit?

Clarification - I'm thinking of the Tomorrowland Skyline Lounge Experience. Can you not watch the fireworks from there? IF not I'm cancelling!

You will be able to see most of the aerial fireworks from there but no projections or the stuff right around the castle-at least not well.

I found the other thread on this topic, and it sounds like the skyline lounge is not really worth it for our party.... glad the boards saved me once again!

The Skyline Lounge does have a "view" of the fireworks, but NO view of the castle or projections. You can get the same view of the fireworks (from Tomorrowland -- so no castle, but viewing the fireworks looking past the Matterhorn) for free from the tables at Galactic Grill. You'll just be on the ground level.
