Best Place to See Fantasmic

I've never seen Fantasmic, and I'm determined to on this trip. Where is the best place to see it? How do I get there? Are reservations required? Will it cost extra for good seats? Are there good seats that don't cost extra? Thanks!!

The best viewing area is the one reserved for the Blue Bayou (BB) Dining Package. It is located front and center. The next best viewing area is likely to be for the River Belle Terrace (RBT) dining package (adjacent to the Blue Bayou viewing area). Both the BB and RBT dining packages are pricey, but they have the "best" view. Neither area has chairs, so it's ground sitting only. The BB viewing area is guaranteed ground seating, RBT is not, but most folks indicate that they are allowed to sit on the ground in that area as well. The third paid option is the Aladdin's On-The-Go dining package. You are guaranteed to get a FP, but it's for the same viewing areas (yellow or blue) as the FP that you can get for free (the benefit is that you know you'll get a FP regardless of when you arrive in the park).

There are three FP viewing areas: Yellow, Green, and Blue. You can get a FP on the Big Thunder Trail. They start with the yellow, then go to green (very limited), and then the blue for each showing. It's hard to say which color you'll get (the easiest to predict is probably a yellow right when the park opens). The yellow viewing area is roughly on the right side of the island, the blue is to the left side and Green is the PotC bridge. I personally think there are good spots in all three FP viewing areas, but there are also low quality spots in all of the viewing areas. It's hard to say if you'll get a good spot or not because it depends on where the CMs direct you when you arrive (they don't seem to always fill the "best" areas in a given viewing area first).
