Best place to get park tickets?

I know there are sites that say they offer park tickets at a discount. I also know a couple people that say they always just buy them when they arrive. So, what is the best plan -- where is the best place to buy park tickets?

I have checked a tons of "discount" ticket websites and I have found Undercovertourist.com to the be the cheapest so far. Their costs include tax and shipping. They are beating WDW's prices by $23.85 for my family.

Thanks...I assume you can get park hopper, multi-days, etc.?

Yes. :) And all their prices include tax and shipping. So the price you see is the price you pay (unlike through Disney and some other places).

Another vote for Undercover Tourist through the Mousesavers newsletter link! :thumbsup2 Great service and the lowest price on the tickets we usually buy (multi-day hoppers). The Mousesavers newsletter only comes out the 15th of each month, and you have to sign up in advance to receive it. The link in the newsletter gives a few dollars off UT's already discounted prices.

One caution, though: Disney sometimes releases promotions that require a ticket purchase (like free dining or the current gift card promotion). Adding the dining plan to your reservation also requires a ticket purchase. Buying even a one-day ticket through Disney (to take advantage of free dining, for example) negates the savings you would get through UT or another broker. You can save that one-day ticket to upgrade for another trip, but your initial financial outlay would be more if you bought tickets through UT or another broker, then decided to book a package through Disney with a ticket purchase required.

We almost always use a room-only discount and don't get the dining plan, but you would probably want to run the costs both ways if you are staying on-site. If you are staying offsite or doing a room only on-site reservation, UT is a great place to buy tickets!

I did not realize that the Dining Plan required a ticket purchase...so to be clear, if I am going to add the Dining Plan (which I purchase at check in) I have to buy the tickets at the same time?

If you are purchasing the dining plan, you must purchase at least a one day MYW ticket (about $80 for adults) unless you are an AP holder or maybe a DVC member. You can save that ticket and use it on another trip (upgrading it at that time for the number of days you need). You do not need to purchase tickets equal to the number of nights you are staying. But unless you go to Disney frequently, it might not be worth it to you to have money invested in tickets that you won't be using this trip. You won't save enough at UT to offset the cost of the one-day tickets you have to buy. You might consider buying the tickets you need through Disney instead since you have to buy at least a one-day ticket for each person.

Have you confirmed that you can add the dining plan at check-in? I've only used the dining plan once, but I thought it had to be added in advance (at least a few days before check-in) and paid for at that time. I'll try to find the answer to that for you if you're not sure.

Edited to add:

I found the following info on this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2353648

How far in advance can I add the dining plan before my arrival?
The Dining Plan can be added to qualifying packages until shortly before your arrival date. The number of days varies depending on circumstances, so the recommendation is to be sure that you've made final arrangements at least a week prior. Call Disney or your travel agent for specific restrictions.

DVC members must have the dining plan added to the reservation up to 48 hours prior to check-in. Call DVC Member Services to add the plan. DVC renters must ask the member they are renting from to call Member Services.
