I get very, very ill on Star Tours and teacups type rides. I have now avoided both for years. We are taking our 10 & 12 year old girls to US/IOA for the first time in March - mostly for my youngest to see the HP rides and world. I understand that there are different elements of motion simulation on a lot of the US rides. Is there a place that can really break down each one for me? I know there are several I'll need to sit out from, even with medication, but hoping I can experience a few of them with her without being ill for days afterwards (which has happened to me from Star Tours in the past.) TIA!!
I get sick on the same types of rides....LOVE Star wars ,but I can't handle Star tours. I just close my eyes as much as possible. I also love Universal....but a lot of the rides there are just like Star tours and make me ill....The worst ones for me have been Simpsons at US (but it's HILARIOUS, and I'd still ride it, just close my eyes,) and Forbidden Journey (which I still think is the best ride in Orlando, but it makes me so sick) For FJ, I have to close my eyes for at least part of the ride. what I'd suggest is riding a couple of times (NOT one right after the other,) and maybe alternating when eyes closed??? That's what works for me. I finally got the see the end of the ride, by closing eyes in the beginning....
Minions is also very bad for me, and Transformers. Sometimes Spider Man, but it's SUCH a fun, awesome rideGringotts doesn't affect me, nor the Mummy, nor MiB (one of my favorites,) but is some brief spinning at the end of MiB,.
I'm able to avoid most motion sickness if I just keep eyes closed, but I've also managed to ride/see quite a bit...sometimes depends on if I've eaten. I get car sick, motion sick when I have an empty stomach. I do better after eating(not RIGHT after, but maybe just a bit, once things have settled,) and if I have to just sit and keep eyes closed, so kids can ride/enjoy, I"ll do that too.
HP is SO much fun, and so worth the trip. I wish we could go now!
