Best place to eat in Downtown Disney

Hi, we are going to be in Anaheim July 23-26th. I am taking DH to see the Yankees (PUKE) play the Angels on the 24th. I am trying to figure out a good place to eat after the game. I was thinking somewhere in DTD, does anyone have any recommendations? There will be 6 of us, ranging from age 2 to 69.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :cool1:

Deadheadbelle, you and I need to become friends. I'm from Boston and am a HUGE Red Sox fan!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, my mother and I are going to DL for the first time. We've always been to WDW. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

My families favorite place to eat in DTD is Rainforest Cafe. The atmosphere is really neat and the food and service are very good! We USED to really like ESPN Zone too, but have had two bad experiences there and won't be going back anytime soon!

Also VERY BAD experience at ESPN (all three of us, food poisoning.....God bless the night staff at the Grand Californian).

I haven't read the other posts, but I loved Jazz Kitchen, I haven't dined there with kids, but there were kids dining there. And, oh my, the Bananas Foster...yummm. You might consider Storytellers in the Grand Californian. Great food, great menu and I don't believe they do the roaming characters at dinner, so it's not as frantic as a typical Disney character meal, but my guess is you'll be eating there on your park days.

RED SOXs....I do believe on the next episode (tonight's?) of Queer Eye, the fab five are doing make overs on several members of the team....check your local listings!

edited to delete inadvertent inuendo (yikes)

Oh yes, we must!! I've only been to Boston once. When I graduated from college, I took my dad to Boston for Father's day to see the Sox. We had a blast. He's been a fan since he was 5 and had never been to Boston. It's probably my best father/daughter memory so far. :goodvibes

Oooh, I hadn't thought of Storytellers. Hmmm. I'll have to check out that menu, too.

OMG! Thanks for the Queer Eye reminder. I forgot all about it.

Darn it! I can't believe I missed the inuendo. ;)

I definately second Storytellers.

And, because I am a girl and have to get the last word, here is an update from the AP wire:

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Derek Jeter thinks the Yankees might be jinxed.

``It seems like when you're scuffling, you don't get any breaks,'' Jeter said after watching Geoff Jenkins' rob him of a game-tying extra-base hit with two outs in the ninth to preserve the Milwaukee Brewers' 4-3 win Monday night. ``And when you're playing well, everything goes your way.''

Nothing is going right for the Yankees lately, losers of eight of their last nine.

Gotta put my 2 cents in here. The really good restruants on DTD are:
(in no particular order) Naples, Ralph Brennan's, and Catal. I've had pretty good experiences at Tortilla Joes and the Uva bar. I'm not a big Rainforest Cafe fan. I mean, I've had a bad fruit plate there, calimari that was still practically moving... BUT I had a decent margarita (sp?) pizza there and some decent soup. I've come to the conclusion that, though they have a diverse menu, stick with the stuff that's hard to screw up. ;) I think Napels also has a kids menu.
I've never eaten at the ESPN club or House of Blues.
Enjoy your culinary experience! :)
